Culturally speaking, Hawaii, especially Oahu, is Japanese.you are lucky to be grew up in a place like Hawaii
i only saw it Vlogs, and other videos but beaches are main reason i want to go there, same reason i love Miami and California for
hopefully someday i will be able to visit those places .
Things that are Japanese are everywhere. When I was growing up, our governor was George Ariyoshi and Honolulu's mayor was a white guy named Frank Fasi. Nevertheless, everyone from every culture get along. Sure, once in a while, we get some very low level racial/ethnic confrontation that make the news, but overall, everyone enjoys the mixing of everyone's cultures.
The surfing sub-culture is the main attraction to Hawaii and we have the best surfing environment in the world. By that, I mean we have beaches with varying degrees of difficulties for every level, from tourist novices to sponsored pros who literally surfs all yr round for a living.
The island chain has some of the best diving in the world, even if all you do is snorkeling. But if you are open water certified, and I was once, grab your gear and camera and prepare to have a great day offshore.
Girls in bikinis ? Eye candies all around. The mixed girls, meaning the ones with mixed racial/ethnic parentage, are the best looking. Better start working out for those abs because they will check you out as much as you scope them out. Am partial to brunettes and that came from growing up in Hawaii. There are always girls that are slim but full bosom-ed and with that Japanese kawaii-ness face that are irresistible to stare at them. So yeah, if you go to Hawaii for your honeymoon, you might get into some troubles with your wife, buddy.
Rent a car -- if you can -- and take off on your own. Guided tours are not bad and many of them are actually better than good. But nothing beat going out on your own.
Waikiki area -- include the famous beach -- is a must stop but it is a huge tourist trap. So be careful with your money there.
Food is tasty simply because of the many cultures, particularly Asian, and you can find anything you like. You can have a typical 'American' breakfast, Japanese sashimi for lunch, and Korean dak bulgogi for dinner and all would be authentic, not that 'fusion' nonsense.
That will be all for now...
