The central Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic, has raised its number of fatalities from the virus by 1290.

Chinese state media said the undercount had been due to the insufficient admission capabilities at overwhelmed medical facilities at the peak of the outbreak.

Wuhan's revised death toll of 3869 is the most in China. Numbers of total cases in the city of 11 million were also raised by 325 to 50,333, accounting for about two-thirds of China's total 82,367 announced cases.

The official Xinhua News Agency quoted an unidentified official with Wuhan's epidemic and prevention and control headquarters as saying that during the early stages of the outbreak, "due to the insufficiency in admission and treatment capability, a few medical institutions failed to connect with the disease prevention and control system in time, while hospitals were overloaded and medics were overwhelmed with patients".

"As a result, belated, missed and mistaken reporting occurred," the official was quoted as saying.

The new figures were compiled through a comparison of data from Wuhan's epidemic prevention and control big data system, the city funeral service system, the municipal hospital authority's information system, and the nucleic acid test system to "remove double-counted cases and fill in missed cases," the official was quoted as saying.

New death cases were added because non-hospitalised deaths had not been registered at the disease control information system and some confirmed cases had been reported late, or not been reported at all by some medical institutions, the official said.

Questions have long swirled around the accuracy of China's case reporting, with Wuhan going several days in January without reporting new cases or deaths.

That has led to accusations that Chinese officials were seeking to minimise the impact of the outbreak and wasting opportunities to bring it under control in a shorter time.

Chinese lies and more lies, propaganda to try and rewrite history the CCP will never learn.

So what? after the city lifted lockdown, they finally has the time and measure to test every diseased the people at home with COVID-19 and determined the cause of death, update the death toll, which show how serious China tickle the problem.

Whilst in NYC, they simply estimated there are hunderds of died at home could be caused by COVID-19, I hope when the plague finally come to an end in US (maybe one or two years from now, judging by their pathetic perfmrance), they will have the time and sense of integrity to test all the diseased during the lockdown as well.

This is officially announced today, but you defintely know how to attract people's eyes by putting a Voice of Asia standard OP and adding some "CCP, Cover up, Rockets".
BTW New york 's death toll "sky rocket" yesterday of more than 3000..what do you say about that?

Its more about transparency which we Asian countries needs to learn from West. This is one major reason of their success.

Wahun numbers were locked nearly a month back and suddenly when Trump started to question China numbers, based on intelligence or perhaps educated guess, China started to revise their counts after a month. May be number will grew further may be there still serious virus going on in Wahun.

u.s is over reporting coronavirus deaths for their objectives of vaccines and new world order and this was indicated by many u.s healthcare officials

How do you know how long they have been doing it for?

Well their media is acknowledgeling that still they are not testing much. We all know that. Fair enough.
You have put it in a fairly mild tune, no contact tracing means no quarantine, mild symptom patients simply stay at home and passed it on to their family members, and you'll never get the figure right no matter you revise the number one time or ten times after the pandemic.
In our part of the world, you will see volunteers going door by door, block by block testing for body temperature, you ll be quarantined if you are on fever in the cabin hospital and so many other measures are APP driven.
