Shot from above, it would be hard to guess where these mesmerising pictures were taken.
They do, in fact, show the sprawling suburbia of Wuhan, a city in the planet's most populous country, China.
Wuhan has the most residents in any of central China's cities, with more than 10million people calling the inland port home.
Twinned with Manchester, the blue, red and purple roofs of Wuhan's houses are a far cry from the terraces of the northern England industrial city.
The colours of the roofs are reflected in Chinese culture - red, for example, symbolising good luck and happiness.
Sweeping roads and lush greenery can be seen separating the houses, which were likely built as part of the city's residential construction boom.
Wuhan, in the Hubei province of central China, is home to 10million people - many of whom live in these colourful houses away from the high-rise city centre and factories
