BS - Shoaib is indeed a good bowler, but can never come close to Waqar or the old West Indian fast bowlers.

But he took wickets of more batter batsman (Lara, Pointing, Wagh brothers, Fleming, Sachin, Rahul, etc) with the outstanding way ....
so no match with them....
Besides he has more weapons then old widnies

Why is he retiring right now? With bowlers like Asif and Aamer out, Pakistan need him the most at this point of time, because the only experience fast bowler left will be Umar Gul.

IMO he should be pursuaded to continue for another 1-2 years, at least in limited overs cricket.

They above were great.....but Aktar has his own style.

With the loss of the two As, there is a gap in the experience levels of bowlers. Either there is Umar Gul, or you have bowlers with less than an year's experience.

All I'm saying is that Akhtar should guide them through by bowling side by side for the next year or two.

Besides Shoaib is different kind of bolwer then Waseem and Mcgrath
