Iran’s influence in the Mideast has been increasing rapidly in recent weeks:

Iran is openly taking the lead fighting against the Islamic State (IS or ISIS or ISIL or Daesh) in both Iraq and Syria, with the support of Hezbollah. This puts an Iranian force to the north of Saudi Arabia.
In Yemen, the Iran-backed Houthis are consolidating their control of Sanaa, as Iran begins direct flight between Tehran and Sanaa, with the threat to supply the Houthis with men and weapons. This puts an Iranian-backed force to the south of Saudi Arabia.
It is widely believed in the Mideast that Barack Obama is going to sign a deal with Iran that will permit the development of nuclear weapons, something that is particularly threatening to Saudi Arabia.
These fast-moving events are triggering fast-moving policy changes, and sharpening the Sunni-Shia sectarian divide in the Mideast, as it heads for a sectarian war.

Last week, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan traveled to Saudi Arabia’s capital city Riyadh, and on Monday met with the new King of Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif came to Riyadh later last week, also to meet with King Salman. According to press reports, the main subjects of discussion were plans for Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, along with other countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), to develop strategic plans to seek “Sunni unity” to oppose Iran and, at the same time, to fight ISIS.

The meetings will no doubt reaffirm previous agreements for Pakistan to supply Saudi Arabia with nuclear weapons and nuclear-capable missiles, if Iran develops a nuclear weapon.

An additional area of apparent agreement between Saudi Arabia and Turkey is the need for a no-fly zone over Syria to prevent attacks by the regime of Syria’s president Bashar al-Assad. Erdogan has repeatedly demanded this, in order to fight both ISIS and al-Assad, while the Obama administration has firmly opposed it, wanting to fight only ISIS. Pakistan is a country that seeks united secterian front against the likes of ISIS. The foreign office has already rejected such silly assertions. Pakistan is pro Iran, Pro Saudi Arabia and Pro Turkey. Our role is to seek unity among the Muslim Ummah.

.
All muslim countries are same for PAKISTAN all are our brothers and we will like to maintain good relations with all of them.

Not according to ISI and Pakistan Army that has recently supported civil war in Afghanistan causing deaths of over million Afghan Muslims. The same agencies are also not doing their jobs when Sunni-Shia suicide bombing are taking place. Also remember East Pakistan, Jordan, Balochistan and FATA/KPK military actions against fellow Muslims. Saudi Arabia is main cause of sectarianism in Pakistan The Indian intellegence has taken advantage and using them for terrorism in Pakistan. ISI and Pakistan Army are obsessed with Afghanistan dont care about whats happening in Pakistan

That is not going to work when Iran is supporting the godless Assad to murder 300 000 Syrian women and children. We simply can't stand behind that as principled Muslims. Today Syrians, tomorrow somebody else.

. .
Well that is strange ,because Iran is the Pakistan neighbour yet Saudi influence in Pakistan is a reality.

It is like Protestant-Catholic conflict in Northern Ireland. The Saudis follow extreme Sunni sect called Wahhabi. The Saudi oil fields are located in provinces dominated by Shias. They are scared that Saudi Shias will rebel in support of fellow Shia Iran. They are funding anti-Shia militants in Pakistan and other Muslim countries.

. .
Sunni Unity?? Never going to happen...

As I see it, Pakistan needs to engage deeply with Turkey to solve its problems. Turkey is a model we should follow. Progressive, pragmatic and modern yet does not let go its history and traditions. They cherish their past but are not stuck in it.

Turkey's policy of not interfering with its neighbors yet protect its interests aggressively is something we should adopt. Same goes for policy of tolerance in society by Turkey. I would love to see Jews living peacefully in Pakistan along with people of other faiths. Just like they do in Turkey.
