No, there are some problematic issues 'technically'. Rani Jhansi's involvement did not come in until the succession of her adopted child became a problem. But the point I'm making is you should ignore those things. The bigger enemy being the British any attempt to overthrow them should be considered valorous. The idea of modern India as one country under a single government of democracy began to develop starting 1900 only. And yes, the congress did have a great hand in it.
What about Mauryan Empire then ? and what about the history of Lord Rama and his exile and travelling all the way from Ayodhya to Lanka ?
