Woman sent back to US for arriving in Islamabad without visa

We get one or two wayward Americans landing in Pakistan and conspiracy mill goes into overdrive. On the other hand we have half a million Paks rolling about in USA, including half of PDF Paks but all is quite on the western front ....

Its funny because much of California is completely destroyed (fire)

Don't you think it is *weird* that an american cuban born California resident middle aged woman travels to PAKISTAN without a visa. On her own. She obviously went for a reason.

No one goes to Pakistan. not even most overseas Pakistanis.

I think she was unable to get a visa because of the process. so she went to qatar visa free and attempted to go islamabad because it was urgent. she took the risk

**Unless her home was destroyed and had no life left and she went to marry a pakistani man**

Suspicious, Some illegal business deal/smuggling to make a quick buck. There is a small chance she did a spur of the moment trip and forgot to check, in hopes of adding Pakistan to the list of countries visited. More context clues need to be looked into.

Either way, the government of Pakistan should have handled this better if it wants to promote tourism. Pakistan has the right to send her back if she doesn't meet the requirements for entry, but why post per passport for all the world to see. Airlines allowing flights to Pakistan need to be reminded of supplying information to Pakistan before takeoff so this doesn't happen again, and for those transiting through Pakistan (as will hopefully increases over the coming years), we need to make sure these passengers stay in the international transit area and don't wander into Pakistan.

. . . .
My question is, how did she get past the agents of Qatar Air in Doha?

Every time I fly through Doha, they always demand to see my visa, despite me flying on my Canadian Passport.
Interestingly, my white friends never get assked for Visa.

I went on a roadtrip to y'alls nation and all the hotels were owned by them. Btw why are y'all so angry all the time? almost punched someone in the face for being a stuck up lil bit*h

You have to stay at Marriot, Ramada, Holiday Inn, Radisson, etc.

Don't stay at no-name hotels, its the worst experience ever.

Count the number of Americans living in Pakistan. Your fingers should suffice. Now count number of Pakistani's in USA. Expect lots, lots of zeros.

543,600 (2017 Census)[1]

So are those 543600 Pakistanis in the US illegal or travelling without a valid visa? If so i agree we should we offer visa free entry to americans in Pakistan however wait, lets go back to what happened with Pakistanis after 9/11. Even those who had valid documents living in the US for many years, their files were opened and on missing a single document, they were thrown out just like that with 1000 dollars in their hands back to Pakistan. Pakistanis had to threw their properties dirt cheap and get out.

Is that while you are flying towards Pakistan (via Doha) or back to Canada/US?

Doha is a hub, so when I fly through there to any other destination.
I flew through there to Sri Lanka, they spent 10 min trying to figure out if I needed a visa.

Another time I flew through there to Tunisa, but with my white friends, and this time they just looked at my white friends and proccessed the ticket.

It's happened many times tho.

Arabs are genuinly the most racist people I have ever met.

Ah k gotcha, so it doesnt really depend on the direction of travel there. Yeah I guess they didnt really check with this lady all that much because she's token white/hispanic likely.

Normally I got the passport pre-boarding stuff wherever I was (Tokyo, Singapore, HK, Europe etc) and it was flying (under my earlier Indian passport) towards North America (so it made sense they had to check visa and stuff, but it was excessive a lot of the time I felt...given they already checked at the check in counter...so whats the point of a special final post-security check at boarding gate too etc).

Once I got Canadian passport, no longer an issue, but I have not flown through the middle eastern hubs as transit points that much (actually I dont think ever...I just visited dubai as destination cpl times)...so not much experience with the Arab side of airline ground staff etc for transit.

Maybe she was sent to test the waters and see the response of Pakistani authorities.

We do allow visas on arrivals for tourists of most nations.
It was being notified on a board the last time I was at Islamabad airport last year in Feb.

Except the visitors need to show some affiliation with some tourist club/reservation of sorts.

It was an instinctive thing, I was really tried and didn't plan the trip. Just got in the car and drove.

And you shouldn't doha is a nightmare, especially when you are tried AF. If you have this number drop off here if you have this color you take this bus, it's a mess.

Will keep it in mind thanks lol. I don't plan on it tbh....coz I honestly dont like the whole Qatar 2022 thing...behind the scenes and the sleazy FIFA stuff...worker abuse etc. Also the airport (Doha) from a cpl trip reports I saw....looks like really empty and not really used....i.e just more status symbol etc. Thats a turn off for me too....I like airports to be reasonably thriving etc...
