MUMBAI: A 24-year-old housewife was allegedly raped and burnt to death by four men in her home in Mumbai. The four youths have been arrested,
police said on Tuesday.

The woman, mother of two, was overpowered when she was alone at her home in Antop Hill Monday. She was allegedly gangraped and then set on fire, a police officer said.

The officer said some neighbours rushed her to the Sion Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. She is survived by her husband, who is a driver by profession, and two children.




Man this is becoming a serious problem in India. Should we have capital punishment for rape......

what will that solve ,

the problem with capital punsihent is : the case goes on for years - even after somebody will be - given death penalty - he would have atleast 10 years on his hand.

the problem is lack of security and these - man dominated society of south asia. here males are sexually - depressed reason can vary from : being uglyness which is a common disease in men---- to the size of their organ which is way too small making them feel despressed by inferiority complex.

its not flame bait - its truth - you can talk about it to - any psychologist.

the reform have to be in the way - we treat the women - and laws which should support women.

make them more confident and they could give a suitable kick in their kahoonies before these arseholes try to rape.

the civil police system is weak too - the vulnerability of our civil police department makes these - animals think they can escape the law.

Last year the no of cases of rapes registered in Delhi was far much more then the previous cases and it became a well known fact that with arguments like "Is delhi really safe for women?"

Though the offense is non bailable, but it is hardly reducing the crime and if we have something like capital punishment then the no of fake cases will increases. I belong to a law family and have seen pretty good amount of fake rape cases in the past.........

So what should be the solution for this....

Majority of the cases go unnoticed. and the recent trend of filming the same with cellphones in order to blackmail has also become another trend.

Even that is being provided with the self defense claases and also there are special emergecy cells for the women in metros.

And who can forget that "Majnu Pinjra" for the eve teasers.

But this is increasing day by day

That's not gonna solve anything. A woman with even black-belt in some form of martial art won't be able to defend herself from four sexually frustrated wolves. That's possible only in movies.

IMO this has more to do with age old male chauvinism that is present in our society. More or less most of us are chauvinists. For an educated person it remains dormant. Thats it. So until we are able educate people and improve our social values incidents like this are bound to happen. I think one more major problem in our social structure is viewing sex as a taboo. Incidents like eve-teasing, molestation etc are manifestation of people's sexual frustration.

One of the main reasons is the lack of education. Many such insects hardly get to interact with women, they hardly understand the greatness of womenhood. A women is the one who is the creator, a mother and a sister and these insects dont understand beyond an object of sex. They consider her a weaker sex when they forget the pain of their mother when she kept them in their stomach for 9 months.

Seriously these guys should be sent to Abu Gharib Jail............. they deserve to treated like that.
