I have used XP without reinstalling for years.. as of my memory my current Windows XP is running since January 2010 and the systems that I used had Windows XP for the last 3 years without reinstalling.

Don't install bogus software, don't install crazy free add-ons and no games. I am using computer for woking and it is running as smooth as I want it to be.

if you use ubuntu or RHEL then it will work fine in your PC or lappy for decades(provided that one has internet connection)
