Will the United States 3D Policy for Pakistan Work Against China’s Rise?

Former President Barak Obama’s Pivot to South Asian foreign policy is still continuing under President Trump’s administration.

Strengthening ties with India, challenging rising China, diplomacy with Iran, democracy in Myanmar, and drone strikes in Yemen and Pakistan are successfully practiced by the new administration of President Trump.

President Trump is focusing on Indian Ocean Region where lie the long-term interests of the United States. Friendly India is more suitable for the U.S to enhance military and naval capabilities in the Indian Ocean Region. Pakistan is being judged as a pro-Beijing state. Therefore, Pakistan is increasingly becoming a proxy-zone for the US strategists to countermand China’s possible presence in Indian/Arabian Ocean.

Economically developed Pakistan is a threat to India’s hegemony in South Asia.

PM Modi needs US’s presence in the Indian Ocean Region. The presence of the US will ensure a shining India. India also needs NATO’s presence in Afghanistan to stabilize Indian interests in Kabul. The presence of India in Afghanistan threatens Pakistan’s stability. So, the US will support Indian presence in Kabul. It is doing all that it can to provide an opportunity to India to counter an economically developing ‘Chinese’ Pakistan. For the Indians, an economically developed Pakistan itself is a threat to their hegemony in South Asia.

President Trump, former businessman, understands the importance of South and East Asia for the United States. He also understands the importance of Pakistan and India. The Trump administration like those before it, need India to contain a rising China and view Pakistan from a US-Chinese perspective. All-out support of China towards Pakistan is a threat to the U.S. influence on Islamabad. So, the U.S. prefers to go with the Machiavellian diplomacy, deterrence, and drones to keep Islamabad under pressure.

The 3D’s: Diplomacy, Deterrence & Drones

The initiation of ‘One Belt, One Road’ and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a threat to the US influence in Asia Pacific in general and Indian Ocean Region in special.

Since 1947, the U.S. has always been biased and ambiguous in relations with Islamabad. Islamabad has never understood Washington. Diplomacy and deterrence to impose sanctions have always strengthened Washington’s influence on Islamabad.

Pakistan’s intelligent decision to turn toward China and Russia is alarming for the U.S. The Chinese initiation of ‘One Belt, One Road’ and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a threat to the U.S. influence in Asia Pacific in general and Indian Ocean Region in special.

Its USA failure actually , Pakistan always kept USA close but USA failed to understand it and always end up playing against Pakistan..

If you keep on working with Pakistan enemies and think Pakistan will not do what is necessary to protect its interests , you are living in fools paradise..

It is perfect summary to understand. If USA ever increase the naval forces in indian ocean and keep supporting india in afghanistan. It will be a threat for pak and china. And pak will move with Russia and china finaly. USA should realize that india cant fulfil U.S intreset in afghanistan without china pakistan and russia. For U.S it is Better to work with pak, china and russia to win the war. But wait a mint it's not about winning a war in afghanistan from starting it is about U.S deliberately influence.
any country either U.S.A or india will move in favor of china and pak with russia that country will definitely dominate in the region with china, Russia and pakistan. India does not share her border with OBOR and CPEC

The important question is that "What steps will the Government of Pakistan take to ensure that Pakistan can get out of the clutches of foreign powers and stand on its own feet?"

More acrimony aroused after USA turned down the f-16 deal last year under Obama's administration. It's good for us that we are working on doing something positive ( increased relations with China/Russia) rather than trying to do the unnecessary.

It's not only the responsibility of the high officials but the responsibility of the people as well. Our behaviors will decide our own fate. Maturity, dignity and self-respect is what lacks here.
