Will secure and develop Balochistan

QUETTA: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan vowed to secure every part of Balochistan and develop the province on Saturday, saying that the security of the country was linked to the state of peace and stability in Balochistan.

Addressing the passing-out ceremony of the 57th batch of Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan in Loralai, he said: “Nobody should have any misconceptions...the state will secure every inch of Balochistan and develop the province."

The future of Pakistan and Balochistan lies together, the minister asserted, adding that the security of the country was connected with peace and stability in Balochistan.

"The province will be developed and all ulterior motives of the enemy will be thwarted," vowed Nisar.

He hailed FC personnel for their sacrifices, valour and resolve to safeguard the country.

Drawing attention of the passing-out cadets, he said: “Your role is not only to fight terrorism, but also to win the hearts of the people."

“The entire world has its eyes on this region due to its resources,” he noted.

“But this land belongs to the Baloch and to Pakistan.”

He concluded his speech by paying tribute to "over 650 martyrs of the FC who laid their lives for the motherland".

“We are indebted to these brave sons of soil,” the minister said.

Pakistani security forces, striving to restore peace across the Balochistan, often engage with militants in parts of the province.

Pakistan accuses neighboring arch-rival India of sponsoring militants groups in Balochistan and other parts of country, of which it provided evidences to the United Nations (UN) secretary general during the 70th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, earlier this month.

A number of Baloch insurgents have also surrendered to the government in recent months, narrating the tale of how they were misled.

You wont hear me crying about load shedding or metro or messed up priorities of this government, such is the importance of Baluchistan. Pakistan budget distribution system is based on population+backwardness ... Balochistan is getting highest budget per capita than the other provinces ...

their population is too low and spread in small colonies across the balochistan .. while the province area is about half of pakistan

with that budget they can't fulfilled their need ... and most of the budget in previous decades had gone in feudal and tribal lords conspiracies

Money has been pouring into Balochistan just like any other province right from day one but did it reach the common man?
No Sir.
The reason is that it used to go to elected reps of parliament and Provincial assembly who were Sardars turned politicians.The royalty of minerals in their area was over and above that.If they didnt spend it on well being of Balochi ppl rather turned them into insurgents then why only blame the federal govt?They didnt let any school, any health care facility as a matter of fact any development take place only because they wanted to control masses by themselves. The strife between Gen Musharraf and Mr Akbar Bugti was not bcz the later has asked for the well beings of Balochi ppl but as usual he tried to blackmail Gen Musharraf for increasing royalty, to which he didnt agree.Having said so, yes there were omissions on Govt part too and its time for Govt to speed up its efforts to bring in more locals into education, health care n jobs umbrella. Balochis are as loyal to Pakistan as anyone else and the misguided ones are realizing the fact n returning back.

First of all you need to reform bureaucracyof Balochistan. Why honest bureaucrats are not interested to serve in Balochistan?
PMLN govt and Nisar you need to look into it.
Army and FC is doing something more than thier mandate in Balochistan because civil institutions are not functional enough.

If Balochistan is so scarcely populated why were other Pakistanis not able to migrate there ?
Eg: In India, a delhi-wasi can easily migrate to Bangalore and live happily.
Someone from Trichy can move to Ahmedabad.
Do we have that culture of thinking entire nation as ours and move anywhere and live in Pakistan ?

Coming to the budget.
Balochs are still backward except for the region being rich with natural resources.
Why was the Pakistan Government not able to access those natural resources all these years and develop
the region and all of Pakistan. Had development taken place there my previous point of people migration
would have happened. What was stopping Pakistan Government ?

Blaming Feudal and tribal lord conspiracies is not right. Why these elements make decisions when there is a Government.
Didn't the Government see those lands and people as their responsibility and involve in their politics and develop them ?

Why anybody want to migrate to less develop area ... People usually migrate to more developed cities like khi , lhr and islamabad

Balochistan province and govt have complete access to their natural resources .. according to NFC award only province can give contract to natural resources and mining ...

Blaming them is right ... Because in pakistan only those areas are less developed which have feudalism or tribalism (that are south punjab, balochistan, fata and upper sindh)

those feudal lords think of their selves as kings and above the law ...

current chief minister isn't tribal lord and he is doing much better than previous ones

It is not population density but economic opportunities that drive such internal migrations. Look at Karachi and how just about everyone ends up there from all over Pakistan.
