You are comparing profession with a personal relation.
Unless you are transactional in your family, there is a lot more that goes into family as an institution than a job.
Marriages have an emotional quotient built in them too, which is what we call being a human.
That emotional quotient needs time to be reconsidered - whether the divorce was out of anger, indifference or due to momentary dislike or disagreement.
Why do you think so? If the couple do not want to be married, why should anyone force them?
No one is forcing them.
They have to undergo a due process which tries to help them either re-unite or even after some trying, allows them to part without any bias.
