Will President Trump be good or bad for Pakistan?

I just wish if he appears as Bush administration. Then this is good for Pakistan. We can work together , and demolish terrorism in the region. We just need smart policy makers . We can be front line state on war against terrorism, if needed we should provide airbase near afghanistan, to stop terrorist movements from afghanistan . This will also help us to demolish them , as this is very difficult and terrain areas with 2500 km of afghanistan. At same time we will concentrate on CPEC project and complete in time.
Win win situation for both countries and to normalize relation with old ally.

on the campaign trail trump has rejected all traditional Republican positions on foreign policy

it remains to be seen if he sticks to it. on a side note hundred plus Republican foreign policy experts attacked him during the elections. Trump is not known to take criticism lightly. it remains to be seen if he hires any of those 100 Republican experts on defense & national security.

Donald Trump as US President is something to be celebrated as it will dispel the propaganda by liberal elite class of Pakistan that US is a friend of Pakistan just like win of Indian Modi as an Indian PM did. For the first time, the world is witnessing the a nationalistic US President with nothing but empty rhetoric which will bring chaos around the globe.

The history of the world proves that whenever a nationalistic person becomes the head of any state, the destruction of that state follows soon. The most recent examples are Adolf Hitler and Mikhail Gorbachev bringing destruction upon their respective nations due to their blind nationalistic policies.

The Indian Modi is anti-muslim, anti-Pakistan, aka "Butcher of Gujarat" RSS goon and US Trump is pervert, a white supremacist, Islamophobic, racist and a political nightmare. Thanks to the Modi, the propaganda of "Aman Ki Asha" is laid to rest for all times to come exposing the real face of India, Trump as US president will do the same for Pakistan as he openly sides with India when it comes to his policy towards Pakistan.

The effects of civil disturbances have also started to appear with Trump as president as most of the foreign nationals have decided to move to Canada so much so that Newspaper Independent reported that Canadian immigration website crashed due to huge requests for Canadian visas by foreign nationals in US.

Trump may prove to be a political nightmare for the world but he will pave the way for destruction of civil infrastructure of US.
I think it's little overblown. The picture shows the Turkish Tycoon, Aydin Do'an, with Mr. Trump doing some projects together. By the by, after Trump's winning the election, his shares have rocketed in Istanbul stock exchange. Somebody in the Turkish media reported that some of Trump's anti-Muslim tweets have been deleted...

Thanks for sharing the Turkish businessman's story. I like to humbly point out that one case cannot be extrapolated to justify the policies for the entire world in future.

Moreover, If we look at the US Presidents' track record (also valid for Pakistan's politicians), the promises made during the election campaigns are rarely met afterwards either due to the ground realities which the candidates came to know afterwards or due to fact that these are hollow promises just to political gains.

As far as Trump is concerned, it's still remain to be seen how he delivers his promises regarding Muslims, Black people, foreign nationals and Mexican wall but the turmoil, which has started in US right after his election, is something which is being observed first time in US after presidential elections and is touching quite serious levels. There are scores of people who are protesting against Trump's win and an enormous amount is also applying for immigration to other countries from US. Lets keep the fingers crossed and see what the future holds.

Trump is worst for Pakistanis and all muslims around the world, its probably the reason why is he elected as US president

TRUMP IS A RIGHT WING POLITICIAN.

He is a American isolationist

AND he is anti moslem.

How he deals with the developing world and the likes of china & Russia will be fun and scary

America currently doesn't need Pakistan to fight any of its wars in the neighbourhood so, there's no policy change in regards to Pakistan can be expected.

Pakistanis don't or can't run politics properly. I've ready plenty of history. If I was a Pakistani leader, back when Mr. Trump announced his presidency, I would've done what India does very successfully. Throw a juicy Carrot. I would've sent a few rich businessmen to meet Mr. Trump to create a JV for a Trump hotel in some place in Pakistan and offered him business ventures as such. Even if nothing materializes, those one on one meetings become semi-relationships which work both ways later in life.

Sir, This statement above, just means you don't know Trump. Trump is a type A++ personality and so am I. People like us, can't let others "slow us down". We take charge and run the show with our own vision. If you've been watching Trump, guess what? He beat the forecasting Crowd / Pundits, he beat the entire Republican party as they weren't for him even till after the election day when he had won (yea, the party that made him their nominee and he became the President-Elect for), and he obviously beat the Dems.

People like these, when take charge, they take a lot of responsibility on themselves and get things done. Everyone in this show, will be running per his command. If someone doesn't, well you'll see a lot of personnel changes in his 4 years inside the oval office I'd assume. Thanks

i think now india has a ticket to do whatever they want in kashmir.
PAF should forget F-16.
modi-trump coalition can be very dangerous for pak.
Be afraid.. Be very afraid ... :)

No, jokes aside. Nothing is going to change. do not take pre poll posturing as something that will translate to Policy.

Don't worry we South Asians are extremely superstitious ...people think Trump and his cabinet will discuss Indo-Pak issues day and nite.....he already got the gift of budget deficit and over spending ..

Sir, Bernnie would've lost. The only real power he had, was the millennials hoping for a free college education. Which is great, but it takes a lot more to win the election. As you can see, a super-political family lost badly!!

I don't expect much change in US policy. Mark my words. In Western democracies and in particular US new governments bring change by the millimetre. It is policy change by few degrees rather than diametric changes. Whoever takes over manages the same underlying system which forces whatever ambitions they hold to be in confluence with the underlying dynamics. Mostly involves tweaking rather than bring fresh policy or 'old wine in new bottle.'

For example do you think he is going to ban Muslims? I doubt it. Policy with regards to Pakistan will remain same but possibly get slightly harsher which was slowly happening anyway under Obama.

Lets how this plays out, but I see alot of hawks getting into the administration, not sure it will be business as usual for Pakistan though, here is a quote from Mr Tarar..
