ISIS wants a ground offensive. They are burning inside knowing that their troops are dying without killing a single coalition soldier at battle.
France and the rest of the coalition should instead increase airstrikes and give more weapons to the Iraqi Army, this time as attack helicopters and fighter jets. ISIS can operate tanks but not an Air Force.
Well, didn't I predict this? Dialectic in action.
Synthesis (goal) is putting NATO boots on Syrian ground.
Thesis is majority of the population doesn't want to get involved more in wars.
Antithesis is putting the puppet ISIS in action to justify synthesis and the frightened population gives in.
It is hard to win in Syria, as Russia's interests collide with the interests of the US. And US interests as we see now are on the side of any terrorist group including IS. And all them are getting great support from USA.Russia is already winning the war in Syria, france going there wouldn't make a big change.
But the core is there, the threat will be existent as long as the organization can kill freely down there and spread its propaganda.
Syria is on a whole other level than the Mali conflict. Best to stay out.I don't think so. France will hit these rats back hard and soon.
France has already shown it has the means and reach to sustain it's own operations in Africa

if they really want to get back at ISIS they should send the French Foreign Legion to Syria to fight alongside the SAA.
Just on the day of attack on France there was a meeting of radical british Muslims in england sponsored by a Christian member of parliament, where they discussed how to establish Islamic caliphate, in that meeting when asked whether they considered themselves as British none of them said yes, when the speaker said that Cameroon was a terrorist everyone clapped and cheered, when India speaks of terrorism Europeans talk about intolerance, when the Europeans face what we are facing for 30 years day in and day out, only now they are feeling the pain, I am sure england and France will become breeding grounds of Islamic radicals, or has already become one, in very few years from now Europeans will feel the pain unbearable. An intervention won't solve anything just like A'stan didn't solve anything. The ME needs to sort itself out and we shouldn't send our troops to die just for Qatar,Saudia and Turkey to see their plans in the region unfold.
The problem in Europe must be resolved by deporting most of the current "refugees",closing the borders and stricter anti terror laws.Even an internet pro jihadi comment must send someone to rot in jail.Strict surveillance of mosques, strict punishement of pro jihadi rallies and comments must be enforced. The law of the land must be imposed with greater severity.
You are acting as if Europe and US have no interests in ME, Turkeys involvement is coordinated with US and some European countries, west and east are having a struggle for power and one of the battlefields is Syria, either you are very naive or you completely missed the news in the last couple years. An intervention won't solve anything just like A'stan didn't solve anything. The ME needs to sort itself out and we shouldn't send our troops to die just for Qatar,Saudia and Turkey to see their plans in the region unfold.
