Will India allow a woman to rule the country ?

Lol it's funny how in some countries women being in charge is such a big controversial thing.

We are in 2010, not 1768

""Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has set new goals for herself - to rule India some day and build a "casteless society""

Her party name is Bahujan Samaj Party
Sale chetrabad ko badava dete hai ... .
And this sham less CM talking about casteless system ?

I personally know a local BSP leader who has gifted mayawati a brand new Toyota Camrey on her birthday couple of years back.

In Punjab, Minister gifted Maybach 62 (Rs 5.59 crore in India) to Baba in 2006. It was 3rd Maybach in India after Ambani's and Manikchand's. Living Gods in our country are really lucky. :sniper:

India will never allow a dalit woman mayawati to become PM.

First, a misleading topic of the thread.

Second, the thread starter didn't know of Indira Gandhi, Sarojini Naidu, Pratibha Patil, Sheila Dixit, etc. i guess.

Third, India has never discriminated among its leaders on the basis of gender. There are many examples in our history to prove this fact. Women like Begum Razia Sultana, Rani Durgavati, Rani Laxmi Bai, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, Begum Hazrat Mahal, Gayatri Devi, Vijaya Raje Scindia & even the Princess of Kalinga who led Kalinga against the Mauryan Empire in 265-264 BC, were all examples of women rulers.

Fouth, No Mayawati PLEASE..
Sonia Gandhi, Brinda Karat, Kiran Bedi, Yes, anyday.

Work of these ladies speak louder than their words..

Do you know K. R. Narayanan was SC and even Giani Zial Singh was from lower caste??

FYI both are former presidents of India.

So do your homework before writing.

Why wouldnt india allow a women to rule the country?

World's first woman PM was Indian, you too do your homework before writing.
It's not about allowing a woman to lead but the person in question has a very bad reputation vis-a-vis corruption.

Also an interesting point is that to lead the country a person need to be strong willed and has to be a popular person.

The lady in the context , mayavati is not much popular apart from just one state of India. Her political career was tainted with scandals and show offs.

So nobody will ever support her.

you must also know that the President in india is just a rubber stamp real power lies with PM.
