American education isn't that good I admit and Asians in general are made fun of because of their parents pushing for education. China may surpass education but wages will be hard to an excess amount of educated people and jobs not being available for all of them.

While Americans are growing dumber. The ones that are not do go to very, very good institutes. American top 20 universities are very good and outdo any other.

But China also has really good universities and a general population which is not growing dumber.

But more than any education, I think a free environment for debate and challenging is important. I don't believe that is possible under the political atmosphere of China.

Their pure numbers say they will. If I was runnning things in DC I would combat Russia and China by encouraging their best and brightest to immigrate here. Scholarships, Citizenship, money etc just like we did to the Nazis. What we are doing is the direct opposite. Sanctions, arrests, trade wars, stopping students at airports etc. This country is terminally stupid at this point.

China will probably produce a lot of tech savvy stuff, but when it comes to Humanities subjects and fields, it won't fair well at all.

Probably, China cares more about STEM education, humanitiies subjects in China are mainly focued on the Chinese culture, history and traditional arts.

Since you want to talk in absolute numbers. If say 10M people (not the real number) in the UK are considered poor because they make less than $50K/yr then you'll always be considered poorer than them if you can't get 1.386B - 10M people above $50K year.

I said poor because If you take your high population into account the 1% of your absolute lowest income population (13M+) will always be making less than 13M of the UK’s absolute lowest population (19%).
