It's a mix of factors and varries in the ever complexity of Pakistan as a nation and its view towards other nations of the world.My father was born in 1946 he is old enough to remember the Ameriphilla of the 1950s and 1960s had interesting discussion about it sometime back all this is tied to the end of the Second World War and the seeds of Cold War era the two main Victors who became competitive Superpowers was America and the Former Soviet Union rest of the world in late 40s were either destroyed like in Europe and Asia Pacific due to the war or were colonies of European colonial powers The US had I think better PR than the Soviets to a extent as Stalin was painted a blood thirsty tyrant the US spent years if not decades cultivating Right Wing or right leaning dictators against "communist" threat anyways on to Pakistan being that the Pakistan had much more religious underpinnings and Communism being anti religion this made the US more appealing that time than the USSR I think this probably lasted up until the 1965 war with India when the US for geo political purposes ditched "Pakistan" and generally by the 70s Arabophilla seeped in and in general really bad US "Cold War policies" led to negative sentiments I will probably write a much more detailed post and be specific if time permits it's an interesting subject

Here is a interesting fact. Vietnam lost nearly million dead to US bombs and guns. That is more dead then any Muslim country has lost in the last 70 years. In other words Vietnam is the single biggest victim of US military power than any other country since WW2.

On the other hand Vietnam killed nearly 60,000 American military personnel. More Americans have died at the hands of Vietnamese then in any other war since WW2. If you count every American killed by every single Muslim country since WW2 the number is still 10 times less.

This means Vietnanese fought like lions and killed Americans on epic scale and the defeated them. No Muslim country has done this damage or fought so well or defeated the USA like Vietname did.

Although the other side of coin is Americans killed million Vietnames. By this measure the Vietnamese would be entitled to nurse the biggest hatred for America then any other. On the American side with 60,000 lost I could understand if America despised the Vietnames.

But why is it today the Vietnamese are such good friends with Americans who in turn also have a soft spot for Vietnam. Contrast this to the hate you see by many Pakistani's against USA when there is no historty of bloodbath like Viet/USA war.

And after all that 'loss', Vietnam became a shining star of capitalism. They were better off not fighitng the Americans. Ho Chi Minh has proved himself irrelevant.

Dear @Indus Pakistan ,i said what was needed to be said. We can continue this debate about American ideology which conflicts basis of Islam.
The end point of these discussions is that you could say USA is militarily and economically super power so we need to be their pets.
I'd reply, we can build our own civilization Based on our own culture. No need to bow to American hegemony.

Hmmm I dont see the US-Vietnamese partnership lasting long tho its mainly due to issues with China the US still uses "pro democracy" and "Christian groups" from the large South Vietnamese diaspora as a way to poke into Vietnamese internal affairs at times

There is a whole dedicated weebo culture among whites...........Japan is the only culture that generates huge genuine authentic interest among hundreds of millions of ordinary whites, unlike other cultures (with the possible exception of K-Pop) , in whom interest is artificially generated through government sponsored cultural exchanges or immigrant populace..
