why was Sindh not "partitioned"??

It's not irrelevant to the Sindhi Hindus living in India.
They lost everything just like that. They were not provided any Sindhi land when the Bengali & Punjabi Muslims were given that privilege.

I don't know who you've been talking to,the fact of the matter remains that Sindhi Hindus are a very strong and affluent community, known for producing brilliant doctors more than anything. There is no way their interests can be usurped by settlers when the whole reason behind the Sindhi insurgency was to keep settlers out. Your entire story thus lands back on its head.
I am willing to concede though that you talked to someone looking for Asylum, who will naturally try to come up with a story of the worst fate that could befall anyone in their situation in order to secure the request.

Because Sindh assembly which was the representative of whole Sindh voted unanimously in the favor of Pakistan. So there was no question of partition of Sindh since its representatives voted for Pakistan.
May be you did not understand my question.

Well boo hoo. There are other people who lost everything too for example millions of Urdu Speakers who lost pretty much everything including identity, land and wealth.

At the time of partition there was NO religious prosecution in Sindh. Hence, there was no threat to them. Rather, there was prosecution(and is still there) in terms of feudalism and almost animal(sometimes worse) like treatment of workers by their feudal masters.

Just curious!!
Sindh had a population of 1,400,000 Hindus at the time of partition and some of the bordering districts like Tharparkar District, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and Badin had a hindu majority. Infact Umerkot still has a hindu majority.
These parts could 've been given to India.
Another thing that baffles me is this
" It was declared by the Government of Sindh, that any land owned by Muslims before 1907 would be given back to them, regardless of Hindu ownership". [r]
why was such a law passed? and why 1907?

This may give some idea too

Once upon a time in Umerkot ( Amarkot)

Yes there is that bit, but the fact remains that despite the name, people of all faiths are free to do as they please, except become Prime Minister, which is a restriction I do believe should be taken down. We have had problems with religious extremism in the past decade but it has been dealt with by people of all faiths.

why hndu population from 1948 shirnk so badly

I could pose the same question and ask why Jammu and Kashmir wasn't partitioned despite it being a Muslim majority.

princely states were given an option to chose a country that they want to join or be as an independent country .. during the times of partition J&K was a princely state while sindh was not..

No, they weren't. They still got their land, faith etc. More truthful is the fact that the partition of Pakistan was rather a painful loss for India.

that shows u r ignorance.,, partition was a blessing in disguise for India..

That is quite a lengthy assumption and somewhere along the way, it loses touch with reality. Though your argument makes sense on paper, it should be noted that diversity is global phenomenon and is accommodated in laws through exemptions and escape clauses. Europe is a largely irreligious society and going by your logic, since they so not assert any religious claim, they automatically end up persecuting those who do subscribe to a religion? That is not the case.
Pakistan is an Islamic State (by name), and yes Muslims do believe in One God but that does not mean that it becomes the core reality. Minorities are free to believe whatever they deem fit (except Ahmedis, they have it very bad) and often, they are granted state safeguards to ensure that their freedoms are observed.

Anyone who believes he is a Pakistani is a Pakistani, religion, is irrelevant in today's age. As for the population shrinkage, though there has been a trend towards emigration as well. The major reasons for decline in Hindu populations remains:

1. The breakaway of Bangladesh, chunk of Hindu population.
2. Massive growth rates in Muslim population, thus drowning out Hindu number.

I'm not taking about the Sindhi Hindus living in Pakistan & that's another issue.
I speak for millions of Indian Sindhi Hindus who were forced to leave their land without providing a Sindhi land when Bengali & Punjabi Muslims were given their own land
. We could have denied Pakistanis large chunk of lands by saying that there was no communal tensions in some Muslim- areas, by your logic.

Indeed, however it is important to note that how America deals with diversity is bound to be different as there is no American Ethnicity, except maybe for the natives but they are not viewed as such. As a consequence, American nationalism is based on creed rather than ethno-centrism which is the source of most other identity groups.

Yes this is indeed a problem that I believe should be addressed as the age of barring positions to people of a particular group are long since past. However, I doubt most people will be deterred by the fact that they can't become the PM of Pakistan, its a long off goal that is not for the common man, only for the rich and powerful and if a rich and powerful man does want to become the PM, a single line in the constitution is hardly any hurdle to clear.

At what point in history are you actually referring to? Can you please clarify?
And as for the part in bold, lands were denied on one pretext or the other in many cases. Hyderabad, Junagarh, Assam Hill Tracts, Ghaziabad, these are only some of the areas that have seen the Pakistani flag being raised and then taken down.

Bored on the weekend? :D

Finally have some time off work!

Go for a Margalla hike, ditch all coms and refuse to be eaten by the big cats :D

Too much work! I was thinking more along the lines of clocking 10+ hours of sleep! Its been ages since I've gotten up after having slept a full night rather than being woken by an alarm or a phone call. There is no such thing as office hours in our line of work!
