Why TTP attacked Karachi airport. Your opinion?

I m not defending TTP, but this does not seem to be them. Its some other group trained from outside.

At best this would be some splinter group of TTP. The TTP is divided. Some factions are for peace, other for wat. This one seems to be from latter group, if its TTP.

ET asked ttp on phone that the fighters were foreigners.. He avoided direct answer by saying uzbeks, afghans etc all are muslim brothers indulged in jihad, something along those lines.

But boy, this attack could've been worse. Imagine them hijacking a plane! Or if they could sneak into the terminal where hundreds of passengers were... But then i think this wasn't a proper plan as the damage was far less. Planes were not desrtroyed, very easy target (look up when tamil tigers attacked lankan airport), main terminal untouched etc. So perhaps either they failed big time and weren't properly trained or well thought plan or their aim was to troll.

Indian ammunition is found from terrorists and not just ammunition, its medicine which Indian military use, which is otherwise not available... this is just the start of investigation.. you will know how much blame you have rightfully earned. But we would blame less in words. This guy in my avatar speaks less and believes in making things happen.

Terrorists need a high profile target and there is no bigger high profile target than Pakistan’s busiest airport.

In order to carry out a successful attack, one needs a team of sympathizers who provide intelligence, safe houses and transport. Hard core of TTP rely on Pashtuns tribal loyalty for their support; Karachi has more Pashtuns than Peshawar. TTP allies are LeJ, essentially an organization from central & southern Punjab. Target killing of Shias including Naval Officers indicates that LeJ has infiltrated into the armed services and the Karachi police. Therefore terrorists have no difficulty getting proper intelligence.

Terrorists need political support. After MQM, Jamaat Islami is the second most popular party among the Urdu speakers. Passionate love affair of Munawwar Hassan with the Taliban ideology is an open secret and Jamiat –e Tulaba rallies in support of Sufi Mohammed of Swat were not that long ago.

Last but not the least is governance. Regret to admit that PPP has the worst governance record of any government in the history of Pakistan. In fact there has been no such thing as “governance” in Karachi since PPP came to power in 2008. Karachi therefore has all the things necessary for anti-state elements to carry out their nefarious designs.

With Pakistan's political scene still divided over ways to deal with this menace; this includes the spineless Ch Nisar, who is too scared of Talilban to do anything decisive; things are likely get worse.

How is it an embarrassment?? All the attackers were repulsed and killed in that attack, thanks to timely help from Afghan forces.

facts about TTP:

1. It is run and managed by Pakistani. They are one of us.
2. It wants to install Shariah and Khilafat in Pakistan.
3. TTP is against western democracy.
4. TTP's ultimate leader is Mullah Umar.
5. In order to achieve their goal TTP would attack Pakistan's installation at any cost. Even if israel offers them weapons they would take it.
6. Pakistan Army is helping US in WoT that's why they are against state and Army.

- Harm Pakistan's image. Make it look like the epicenter of terrorism.

- Scare away investors. No one would like to put money in a place where Airports are not safe.

- Terrorize the near by civilians and in general the population of Pakistan. People would be afraid to come out of their homes and no one would send their children to school thereby causing the breakdown of society.

- To shed light on the differences between the Army and the Government. One wants talks and the other Action. The option chosen would clearly tell who calls the shot in Pakistan.

They attacked Karachi Airport for different reasons.

Why they attack on Mehran Airbase ? What was the purpose to hit P3? they are not for TTP or anyone else. They are for core enemy - India.

So similarly same task assigned over here. Attacking on the Karachi port means you've lost extremely massive amount of $$$. Many Air to Air shipments off-load and on-load @ Karachi Airport Cargo terminal. Americans, British, Russian name it and I will tel you how much Cargo movement @ one and only airport of Pakistan everyday. Pakistan earned huge $$ from that lifting Cargos. Remember the only Airport capable to handle International Cargo in Pakistan.

Iike they did - burned Karachi Cargo terminal. That's the message to all those countries who payed for lifting their Cargos. Those countries will defintely change their cargo lifting to India, Iran or Afghanistan simple and that $$ directly pay to those countries. Its about to break the trust of insurance by those countries whom cargo land and move from Karachi Airport.

Technically again TTP easily target any skyscraper building in Karachi to damage and show their power why they hit Karachi Airport? its not because to show that Pakistan security forces are not capable to tackle us. Everyone knew such attacks anywhere in the world most of them are 50% success because who try this they have 1 assignment - Hit & Blow or Hit & Run simple.

Again Karachi attack was planed somewhere for some different purpose. IMO India is behind this simple.
