Burma has been commiting genocide and ethnic cleansing against Rohingya people left and right for 5+ years now.

Yet, the global backlash is very recent as if it never happened before. Where was everyone 5+ years ago? Talking about Muslim countries too. Why stage protest now and not before?

Because people lost patience this time now.5 years ago. many people around world first heard the name of Rohingya people or what about the crisis.In the last 5 years, Media followed their story and a public opinion buildup around the world.And the recent crisis is the biggest one since 1992.So people are justifiably horrified by the atrocity forced upon Rohingya people.
