Ethnicity and race is an artificial construct, I despise ethno-nationalists of all varieties, particularly Punjabi and Pushtun ones. However, with Pushtuns at least they were able to defeat their subjugators and stand up for what they believed in, no matter how much you despise them you have to admire their courage and tenacity. The same can't be said of those from the land of Punjab and by extention other varieties east of Indus river. Also, you can't ignore contributions made by Punjab as part of the establishment from day 1. You can't absolve Punjab of it's central role in the rise of many insidious movements and individuals and it's impact on the perennial deterioration of Pakistani state and economy.
As for my fellow muhajir (the most artificial ethnicity of South Asia) brothers they also get the blame for the rise of Altaf and MQM's 40 reign of terror, ably backed by the Punjab dominated Mil-establishment no less. That is why I am the most vocal critic of MQM and Altaf on this board.
Lastly, Pushtuns nationalists of yore are not in power in Afghanistan and I could care less what they think of the Indic people. Ironically, Pakistani Punjabis tend to play up the Indic label a lot more to put down the muhajirs as if they are some distinct inferior hindu race, separate from Punjabis.
