Why Sonia Gandhi Is More Indian Than You

The tragedy of Karnataka- with SMK moving to national role, you can't rule out the congress bringing another joker like Dharam Singh to power.

SMK is history & the new bunch in the state congress inspire no confidence whatsoever. We are most likely caught between tweedledee & tweedledum

Why are Indians not willing to give change a chance? We have seen enough of the pi55 poor rule of CONgress, what has India got to lose by giving change a chance? There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that things cannot get any worse! If a country and people are not willing to give change a chance, what hope is there?

It's a classic case of people wanting to have everything good... but when it comes to making sacrifices to achieve that, they will always look for a martyr in next door neighbor. Everyone wants a change... but let the other guys start first!

SECULARISM is the word that was added ONLY in the PREAMBLE of the Constitution.

& as you may know, Preamble is non-binding on anyone.

Not completely correct, the preamble was non binding, however the Supreme Court of India has, in the Kesavananda case, recognised that the preamble may be used to interpret ambiguous areas of the constitution where differing interpretations present themselves. In the 1995 case of Union Government Vs LIC of India also the Supreme Court has once again held that the Preamble is an integral part of the Constitution. So the preamble is an integral part of interpreting the constitution.

Btw why are we discussing secularism? India's legal and national identity will always remain secular, that point in non negotiable under any circumstances. I hope you're not suggesting anything in opposition of secularism?

She waited 17 years to apply for her Indian citizenship why?
AND
when she travels, nobody knows nothing on which passport she traveled, and which destination.
It is given to understand that after she reaches Dubai, she gets Ambanis charter plane which takes her to Europe to moniter the health of her accounts in Swiss.
Very clandestine operations, very treacherous.
Indian?
My foot.

I guess it takes time to warm up to a country. Do you really expect anyone to land in India and give up their citizenship?

. .
Wonder why someone needs 6 POINTS & a third person to prove that she is an INDIAN & guess what BETTER than many INDIANS.

Sorry, but SCIENCE have still to INVENT an instrument to measure one's PATRIOTISM.

thats what i was telling.......even that was added when parliamentary democracy was suspended and india was under dictatorship.....so let them have a vote and pass it again in the parliament after following due process.....

there is nothing that is constant in this world....least of all some words written in a piece of paper....

and btw indian preamble also tells us we are socialist republic....that turned out to be so good pre-91.....secularism is not the start all and end all of everything.....if it serves the people good...if not, then it can/should be discarded.....uk is not secular constitutionally..they are still doing fine.....infact they are more "secular" in practise than us.....

THANK THE GOOD LORDS for that! We's be swimming hip deep in religious zealots by now. IF the Bajrang Dal or the VHP fellows get to rule the nation- I'm out coz otherwise I'll probably be dead.

irrelevant/misleading comparison...pre-islam indian kingdoms usually patronized one or more religion but still there was little religious persecution...religious dissent was not frowned upon or other religions discriminated against....actually minorites from different parts were given active refuge under hindu kingdoms......

what you are doing is a form of cultural relativism......assuming the outlook of all religions is the same/similar...what you said would be true only if the record of treatment of minorities by hinduism and islam was the same....which we all know aint the case......

Seen exactly how accommodating the Bajrang Dal nutheads are personally. There is no cultural relativism here at all. A democracy functions at its best when religion is separated from the state. That's how we like it. Go pander this malarkey to someone else.

Nepal was the only Hindu country in the world till the Maoists kicked in....

Was Nepal anywhere near Pakistan or KSA as per your reasoning?
