up to 5 millions according to the new narrative (3rd of the Uighur population)

I wrote what was said in the article, but there is no possible way to imprison 5 million people. That just sounds too absurd

Given how they had managed to kill millions by starvation before this is not obsurd. They are doing it and you are choosing to ignore. Friday prayers are now empty from a few hundred or thousands in villages or small towns; in those places most mosques have been razed to the ground. They are trying to relive the Gang of Four time period once again.

china was not a powerful country in 1971 to help us like u.s or russia like powers so it is not justified to blame china for our own incapability and problems.China has emerged as strong power in last 20yrs

Who wrote this shit :D
China is our biggest trade partner and our economic futures are getting more and more tangled
You are right your economies are getting tangled, but if you think thats good for you, you lack long term vision and knowledge, your imports are only gonna increase and local industries will die. The money from chinese investment isnt going to stay in pakistan etc etc. Anyway, just saying the tangling isnt so happy happy as you think. Dont feel i say that bcoz i am Indian and jealous, even we are suffering from trade deficit and lack of access to chinas market and we are already negotiating with them. You guys better start now.

Author fails to analyze or probably minimize the ramifications of Pakistan staying the course. Staying the course means Pakistan accepts second fiddle to Indian hegemony in South Asia and works against Chinese interests. In that scenario also Pakistan looses strategic independence which it so dearly covets. What break up of Soviet Union did was in fact an opportunity for Pakistan to create its own strategic backyard something that revolves around its sphere instead of existing structures. But the people in charge lacked a vision. Central Asia stills provides Pakistan with that hope to remain strategically independent and have their trade done through Pakistan. Ofcourse it will need infrastructure and it will need people to people contact something that should be welcomed so that the next generations of central Asia could connect with their own past as well which is very much connected in the shared history of the region.

it's like 2 cats advising mice about their security and well-being! :omghaha:
now the question is whether the mice are stupid enough to heed this "advice" and end up as cat dinner
Well, it doesnt matter to us much, with chinas assistance atleast pakistan wont be a failed state with nuclear assets in completely evil hands, them being a subordinate state doesnt matter to us, they act as a buffer between extremists and if they fail, india would have to face bulk of these islamic terrorist groups. And if pakistan tries to stay independent and improves its economy, maybe there will be better relations between countries bcoz when there is welfare in the country, they try to keep the status quo and stay away from war. Many are more afraid of a failed nuclear state than a chinese lacky.

Mexico vs Canada. A better Canada is less problematic than Mexico. Same applied to India a better Pakistan is less problematic then the otherwise.

Pakiistan has made several major grand strategic mistakes since its creation in 1947, including the attack on India in 1971, which led to Pakistan’s dismemberment. However, Pakistan is in the midst of making another grave mistake, and it is one seldom discussed. This is the high cost of its alliance with China. Due to the poverty in its long-term, strategic planning, Islamabad’s conception that the Sino-Pakistani alliance is key to Pakistani security introduces dependence on Beijing and creates the avenue for Beijing’s exploitation and manipulation of it—with the result that Pakistan finds itself less secure and alone in the world. We argue that Pakistan should reverse course. The alliance with China ultimately serves China’s ambitions above Pakistan’s. Islamabad should extricate itself from its alliance with China, and improve its position by aligning with other, democratic states.

The author of this article is delusional at best or a pro-Zionist West paid writer. Pakistan's alliance with China has stood the test of time. The only thing wrong in this equation is the disease of corrupt politicians that have plagued Pakistan, destroying it's institutions and bringing the country to the point where it's people have little to no sense of cohesion and have a dismal educational system. The government institutions have ZERO credibility and are failed institutions because of a lack of moral compass as well as abject poverty. The so-called leaders of the past take all the credit for destroying this beautiful country and it's limitless talented people. Pakistanis biggest flaw is lack of REAL EDUCATION and not to forgetn hubris. Where being Muslims should have eliminated hubris from the root, it seems illiteracy even impeded Pakistanis from truly realizing what a real Muslim is auppose to be. To top it all off, Pakistanis indulge themselves in lapping up bollywood filth like a bunch rabid dogs. Thus completely eliminating the vision of Allama Iqbal. Today they have a potential nation of youngsters corrupted by bollywood, hollywood, illiteracy, poverty and corrupt politicians.

If these factors are accounted for, then this is possibly one of the extreme dangers posed to Pakistan-China alliance. But every nation gets at least once in a life time opportunity to change it's destiny and correct the ailments. This comes in the shape of Imran Khan (who has the support of not only the most powerful in Pakistan, but also the most powerful ally of Pakistan) and CPEC. Pakistanis have the ability to take full advantage of this opportunity and really work hard in helping one another in the education sector. Pakistanis also must steer toward TRUE ISLAM to reestablish their moral compass, with profound consciousness that we belong to the Ummah of Nabi Muhammad Alaihi Salaat-u-Wassalam and abide by the principles of conduct set by our beloved Prophet (Alaihi Salaat-u-Wassalam). Without this, we wouldn't need for the enemies of Pakistan to come and destroy us, we would do it by ourselves. Such are the dangers and ground reality of Pakistan, and it's alliance with the best ally any nation could ever hope for.

As the late President of the United States of America (John F Kennedy) said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, rather ask what you can do for your country." This is what the state of mind of every Pakistani should be. When Pakistanis unite under the banner of Islam, educate themselves through the light of Islam, eliminate corruption with the guiding principles of our beloved Prophet (Alaihi Salaat-u-Wassalam) and support one another instead of undercutting ourselves. Then we will truly be powerful ally of China

Shoddy journalism on display here.

China has increased Pakistan’s geopolitical importance via development support to our economy and military.

We were able to escape the shadow of the US/NATO and their Indian regional policeman as a sole result of China’s support, direct or through UNSC.

The Kashmir issue has been kept alive by China’s veto power, otherwise Russia, US, and others support India’s narrative.

that was a different time, but what is funny is that all of you choose to ignore the part where i said that USA killed millions in Iraq and Afghanistan and only concentrated on the China part. Bias much?

In past same stuff were peddled about America to us.

China is our biggest trade partner and our economic futures are getting more and more tangled

You have to keep in mind that the fruits of CPEC are contingent upon the abilities of the Pakistani common Joe. And we all know the mean capabilities of our citizens.

Moreover our leaders might not have completely disclosed what promises and agreements they made with Chinese(never a surprise with Pakistani leaders). Because the Chinese people that have come so far to Pakistan, seem to have a we are superior and an exploitative attitude. Case in point are the marriage/trafficking rackets and the factories who won't let workers pray etc. Which could just be culture shock. But that's doubtful since China itself has a good 20 million muslims.

Compare a high school graduate in USA/UK even Eastern Europe with a high school graduate in Pakistan and you will get your answer. Pakistan has a vast labor pool i.e the muscle. But it is seriously lacking in brains.

And the people that did have usefull qualities have left the country for greener pastures.

So the seemingly huge economic gains from CPEC start sounding more like a dud. When you take these aspects into account. Because of a lack of initiative, entrepreneurship, overly optimistic expectations from Chinese, lack of administrative sense.

Like so many other things in Pakistan. CPEC is starting to look more like a very good prohect that really was a game changer. But thanks to greedy politicians, bureaucrats, babus and big business/mafia(in Pakistan they are synonyms) who might have done same shady deals that would've made them tonnes of money but left poor Pakistani to pay.

How can we expect any benefit from deals negotiated in CPEC when we know small lowly bureaucrats, leaders, even colonels, majors, generals etc have sold national dignity for a new car, some hot russian escort or a blue/red passport etc etc.

We in the past treated US like the messiah. Now we are treating China like one.
Name of one of many of our diseases is
KHUSHFEHMI

And this is not US propoganda(ofcourse they want CPEC to fall through). No matter how much we want to tell ourselves that.

But a reality check. Which should be taken in constructive sense so we can mitigate our weaknesses and be really able to reap the benefits of CPEC.
