It has to buy its food from neighboring states which have far lesser water resources than Kerala has. Also the per acre yield of Kerala despite their advantage is rather poor compared to other states and its complete dependence on artificial fertilizers.

The places that are food bowl to kerala uses faaar more fertilizers and pesticides than here.

Here we still have preference on ash, cow dung, goat manure, poultry manure ..we have more organic stuff.

Its hard to find a fertilizer store here or get a descent NPK mix or even a Phosphate direct fertilizer.

Its not my preference mate, we have plenty of legends where we have seen deities having blood and animal sacrifices,. im not fond of blood either.
