Meh,Mallus and Bengalis are known for writing and supporting such Bullshit,Rest of India don't follow them. Now you know, why these states have no employment and are dependent on Gulf/Middle East for their livelihood.
Low employment, gulf, Kerala , comuunists blah blah
I've heard that a hundred times!!!
Now tell me why do you support the ban???
Hindus used to eat beef and Buddhism influenced hindu dietary habits. Agree?

A secular society does not ban beef. Just as a secular society does not ban drinking, even for minorities, something Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto did. For a secular society to ban beef just because people of a select faith do not eat it is taking a fundamental right-freedom of choice away from them

I am glad some secularists still survive in india. @levina where were you guys. I was beggining to feel the "suckular etc" Hindutva crowd was really the majority. Might I have been wrong.

Theres a ban on liqour in Kerala?
Eh? You are a Pakistani, How are you worried about Sickular or Secularism in India?

.
I can understand that, but thats not a reason to support this ban, right?

Not just that reason, there are other reasons, like water conservation,

water requirement for for production of ..
Beef : 16726 m³/ ton crop

Pork : 5469 m³/ ton crop

Rice : 2552 m³/ ton crop
Wheat
: 1437 m³/ ton crop

Environmental impact of meat production - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

along with that you need huge pasture lands to graze these cattle
More over , I am in favor of expanding milk and dairy farming. Which is more long lasting per cattle

yes that's right, it will not be tolerated,it is against Hinduism. Try to be secular.

secular is letting everyone do what ever they want and not bringing religion into the matters of state.

what you have is hindu nationalist government.

I'm not defending pakistan or anything, but there they allow licenses for alcohol consumption for hindus, christians and other non-muslims. And it's a hardcore muslim (95%+muslim) country complete with a whole set of terrorist organizations and still they can tolerate a minority consuming alcohol (strictly against their religion). Offcourse there are problems(attacks on minorities etc), but alcohol is totally available to a non-muslim in Pakistan by law.

In that sense, a terrorist Islamist state is more tolerant than India, a self proclaimed secular state.

I support because our Religion teaches us not to kill cows and eat them.
Hindus used to eat beef, is peddled by Marxist/Communist writers and no wonder these articles come from the last bastions of Communists that is Kerala and West Bengal.
Hindus don't eat beef, Scriptures abhor beef eating and slaughter of Cows. There was a big thread about that recently, you can check it out.
The OP of this article automatically assumes every Hindu eats beef, Just like its easy to assume every Muslim eats Pork.
This is what happens when a Minority rules over Majority in states like these.

.
Who told it is compulsory for hindus? who is the thekedar or Hindus? there is man flesh eating babas...is it allowed in your opinion?

I can show you n number of references where it shows beef and other non veg eating by hindus in BC.

The answer is simple. Ignorance.

Vedas has earlier classified people into 4.

Vedas were taught and practiced by brahmins only at that time where it has guidelines which included not to kill animals any animals.

Kshatriyas during that age had no issue over hunting, killing and eating it.

Actually NO.

Buddhism allows consumption of Beef and any other meat. Only Sanghas are not allowed to slaughter though they are free to consume dead animals.

Consumption of Beef is condemned even in Rig Veda, and even secular literature confirm that it's consumption was taboo.

yaḥ pauruṣeyeṇa kraviṣā samaṅkte yo aśveyena paśunāyātudhānaḥ,yo aghnyāyā bharati kṣīramaghne teṣāṃśīrṣāṇi harasāpi vṛśca - Rigveda

(The fiend who consumes flesh of cattle, with flesh of horses and of human bodies, Who slaughters the milk producing cow, O Agni, tear off the heads of such with fiery fury)

Do not kill the cow. Cow is innocent and aditi – that ought not to be cut into pieces. (Rigveda 8.101.15)

Consumption of meat of Cow,Bull,Asses,Elephant,Horse,Pig,Dog,Fox,Wolf,Lion,Monkey,Ape is forbidden in Hinduism. Eating them carried a penalty of being outcasted and consumer became paraiah (untouchable): Xuanzang,Chinese traveller 640 AD

So you're saying that raising them for beef has a toll on environment. Because they consume resources etc. Does letting them stay alive (ban on slaughter and consumption of beef) help that or worsen that ? If you ban slaughtering cows, they will reproduce even more and now take away more pasture land and water. That will be the impact of expanding dairy farm production.

So it makes no sense. banning beef to improve environment.

Red meat does not suit people in warm places, it is a known fact.. and it is advised not to eat it during monsoon, rain and summers.

More over there is a research going on in developed countries, where Govt will make a highly advanced system to control and regulate the food available in market, according tot season, climate, suitability and eating habits of the people of the region. They are seriously looking forward to implement this system.
