Why is India so upset with Masood Khan nomination to US?

I don't think that Indians are upset with Masood Khan. But Indian media and its nationalistic audience have the tendency to celebrate anything that is seen as an embarrassment to Pakistan. The perceived embarrassment (for Pakistan) in US stalling the appointment of Masood Khan is the most manifestation of this natural attitude. If Masood Khan was appointed by US without fuss, then Indian media would not have talked about him at all.

The only new thing I learnt from this thread was: A serving foreign service officer of Pak was president of so called "Azad" kashmir during his career.

I dont know whether to laugh or cry at this, but please stop calling it "Azad" if u r going to deploy a serving bureaucrat of Pakistani establishment as its "President".

I never expected a bureaucrat to be part of such a joke. Named as "president" of something just for heck while being in service. At least wait for his retirement before doing such tokenism. Like in India, many retired politicians are made Governors/Presidents.

At least in Azad kashmir people are not murderd by the army or locked ..

I don’t know what the delay is about. Pakistan would not have appointed Masood Khan if they thought the US would reject him. There something else going on.

If America refuses to accept our designated envoy then Pakistan should kick out the American Envoy.

that wont and cant happen. we must keep on insisting and if it doesn't work then we can get a replacement of equally capable person.

and make this guy the UN ambassador which USA cant object. by the way Masood has been UN Ambassador before.
