I think, the parties in pakistan have their own ways of claim to fame:

PML-N:
has grass root support in punjab, especially lahore, and also rural punjab areas too. Supporters are loyalists. Will always vote for them, however the performance.

PPP:
Wide grass root support in rural sindh, and minimum to moderate in punjab cities. Supporters very loyal. Will vote for PPP however the performance.

MQM:
Very strong support/grip in karachi. None in the rest of the country. Most of the support is from middle-class. Votes are assured from urdu-speaking loyalists, while from others usually by force.

PTI:
No grass-root support in Pakistan, no loyal regions too. But wide support from educated-class, middle-class, upper-class, and modest support from lower-rural-class. The support is subject to change on his performance, and there are no loyalists.

I think if PTI performs good in these 5 years, the other parties will lose their clout and voter base to PTI. This change will be catalysed as education becomes more common, and voters start to abandon loyalties in favour of performance.

I agree, they're active in other parts of pakistan. But the results of their efforts are yet to be seen. I'd wait and see if they get mandate to run any provincial govts. Democracy is getting stronger so lets wait and see.

MQM needs to change its name and mottos. They need to stop potraying themselves as muhajir qomi movement. To succeed in rest of pakistan u need a country relevant purpose, not ethnic specific purpose. Raise slogan for pakistan and not muhajirs, and people won't feel alienated by mqm.

But just to point out the basic flaw in ur argument, U emphasised how mqm is all over the country and not just karachi, but do you think mqm will ever succeed up there?
Ur 2 statements are in conflict by themselves. You said mqm represents its vote bank and if it doesn't solve their issues it will fail, and also that if it gets elected in punjab it will do this and that....

Tell me how does mqm hope to get elected in punjab when it represents 'its vote bank' only. Why would a lahori vote for a 'muhajir qomi movement' when it only represents the interests of its vote bank?? Advice or no advice, every guy u meet north of karachi will be mqm phobic coz ur advertising that u represent muhajirs only. Where's the 'Pakistan' factor hann???

Would a pathan in kpk vote mqm coz it represents muhajirs?? What logic is that?? First go and overhaul ur party, remove miscreants, come back with a national voice and then expect votes.
