There is nothing great about the Ottomans. They were a one-trick pony - gunpowder. Once their opponents mastered gunpowder it was game over. The only reason Ottoman Empire collapsed because British empire had little help courtesy of Arab leagues that sold out in the name of Arabs nationalism. Otherwise, Ottoman Empire would still be going like Russia has from USSR. And there would be no Israel. And Middle East would still be safe post 9/11.
