Mate there is nothing better than having 5 days off work and sitting down watching two good teams play a test match. Cant think of many sports that go over that duration. Cricket involves skill, patience, stamina, determination and thought. Its can be bit of a chess match. And yes, like the other guy said it doesnt cost much money to play and it also brings together nations that may not have much contact with each other. It also breaks down barriers and doesnt have that silly us vs them mentality like football does. People like Sachin Tendulkar or Wasim Akram are household names in Australia, cricket fans not just love the game but the opposition as well.

Huh ??? Read about Pehlwani (Gama Pehlwan) Kushti, Kabaddi. All very physical sports. As kids wrestling was our (cousins) favourite sport. Cricket, football came after that.

actually in india hockey was famous since we were doing good in it infact we were the best but then 83 wc happened cricket became the trend we were the champs

wat i mean is its all about winning when indian football team starts wining if not wining atleast players getting selected for clubs it will also become craze

one more example is FORMULA 1(i have became an ardent follower of F1)

Swimming,Basketball and Football requires more stamina than any other games. Test Cricket also requires a lot of stamina. People like Mohd.Yousuf ,Dravid - they bat for weeks lol
