"Sugar daddy" is a big overstatement as India would have to contribute a lot more to be one.

However, from their perspective it is a relief to not see the return of BNP to power and as a result a potential repeat of the state-sponsored insurgency operations against India by DGFI/NSI in cooperation with ISI between 2001-2006.

Had NSI not bungled the 10 truck arms supply in 2004, NE India would still be in a havoc.
