Why India needs to reduce the size of its Army

how about a compulsory military deputation for all able youth (atleast men) for 2 years ... it will produce us a disciplined youth and unlimited pool of trained fighters who will hold out the nation even in a India Vs rest of the world ...

A Nation full of figthers is better then having a small trained defending army...

A Nation full of fighter will end up Fighting among themselves.

A Nation full of Scientists, Doctors, Architects and Philosophers and Artists is much better.

No need to reduce it. Our economy is growing so we can easily handle even in bigger numbers. But the budget for R & D should be increased.

Just look at the equipment IA has & also their CAPEX:OPEX ratio

What's the point? modernization of obsolete equipment doesn't come at a cost of reduction of man power. And while we are at at, let's also look at how much of the Capital budget was returned back to FM over the last 10 years.

We are the largest voluntary army in the world.. if am not wrong.

No we dont ... We lack officers... Those youth who are educated dont opt for army... most people go because they cant find better option to earn...

Compulsory Military training instills patriotism in youth... we can Brain wash each of them into Indian Nationalism... it has got unlimited potential... Preliminary education should be integrated with military training... each trained person would keep Indian interest above caste and religious ...

It can solve the gutter politics of India in long run...

A nation full of Scientist , Doctors, Architects and Philosophers and Artists who can also fight for Nation is better Idea, if we really want to be a powerful country in long run... or else we are wasting our advantage of having a huge demography which is the only merit we have when compared to other countries...

Israel is in a permanent State of War.

That is not what I want for India.

Every citizen in Israel be it doctor architects, Philosophers etc. lives for war. They have no identity beyond this. No life except in anticipation of the next war. The next attack.

The entire nation of Israel exist only for the sole purpose of "existing" There is nothing beyond that. Its an ANIMAL Life.

Its NOT a Future I want to wish for my children. Better to sacrifice a few for the blooming of Many. That is why Nations have armies.

India has NO concept of lakhs of Armed civilians like Pakistan

If Indian Army falls ; then India Falls

Hence we need a very large Army
Otherwise the Hordes from across the border will swamp the country and reach DELHI
