You would automatically become the global darling, when the world sole super power is standing behind you.

.
If you say that Manmohan as the PM did nothing for the country then you couldn't be more wrong because India under his tenure become an almost 2 trillion dollar economy from a 700 billion economy when he started. Infact UPA 1 was one of the most fantastic govt we have seen in the past many years.

This was all momentum from what NDA did. UPA rode off the coat tails. It explains why they crashed and burned badly in UPA2 because UPA1 started the paralysis rot.

If you have any evidence of policies that UPA1 did that were economically beneficial and revolutionary....I would like to see them.

It is because the Pakistani PM is marginalized. Army dictates all policy. Given the chance, Nawaz is a capable guy who can lead the pakistan to his good days.

It was not the momentum bulid by the NDA. India achieved its highest growth of 9% in 2006 and 2007. Do you really believe that the momentum build by the NDA in 2003-04 payed off in 2006-07? Yes the boost in global economy and the ends of sanction helped but that wasnt all.
There are many evidence of good not revolutionary policies by the UPA and you can see them for yourself.

There are many evidence of good not revolutionary policies by the UPA and you can see them for yourself.

There is always a lag period between introduction of a policy/reform. It can be as long as 5 years depending on the multiplier effects and credit/debt efficiency needed to kickstart.

I don't see one instrumental policy reform that the UPA1 did to continue/increase the economic momentum...they tweaked a few things and introduced many more subsidies and welfare programs (which are counterproductive for the most part since their efficiency is quite poor long term fiscally without any accompanying bureaucratic reform/end verification+analysis).

They are basically a dole/leftist thinking elite and like all of them worldwide...create a rubber band on growth rather than a spring. India could only really afford 1 term of them....but since plenty voted for 2 thinking the first term economic performance was credited to them....everyone got to experience what they really are in the 2nd term when they continued to twiddle their thumbs, steal and "share" what little was being augmented and hope for a miracle to happen.

This is why its also crucial for Indian economy that NDA now wins another term so that they can actually be around to continue to add to the reform cycle that is underway currently and get India well back on track again.

but why this happenned when the

1.when same superpower used to call your nation "most important non NATO ally"

2.when NaMo was rejected by same superpower and not given US VISA ?

3. when same USA send its 7th fleet "to teach india a lesson"

For any country the economy is the most important thing

India's stature in the world is rising because of the growing economy

Geo politically India has become important because of the China factor

India's RISE has just begun

so has the real hard work as we need to make it a manufactering based economy instead of a service provider & agro based economy or we will loose steam

Formulating policy is one thing and making sure that it is implemented and continuous work on it to have the desired end result is different. If NDA policies were good the UPA 1 did a fantastic job to make them fruitful.
Bringing VAT instead of sales tax is one of the many good things UPA did although it started way back during Vajpayee's tenure.
They did brought a lot of welfare programs but that is why they are the liberals in Indian politics. There are still a few sections in the congress who thinks that it is in the best intrest of India to be a wellfare state.
And lastly I agree with you that this govt. needs a second term so that they can continue to make the economy better as well as to complete what they have started.

I judge by entire performance....and UPA1 comes up short for me. We can agree to disagree here, its fine.
