Was just looking at Indian amazon and every home appliance/electronic is at least half of price compared to Pakistan. Why is that? From front load washing machines to inverter AC. etc Not to forget cars.

Pakistanis have to earn at least twice as much as Indians just to afford basic home appliances. Yes petrol is cheaper but everything else which is needed for better life is more then twice as expensive. And its not about higher taxes as India tax to GDP ratio is also almost twice that of Pakistan.

cuz indians are cheap beyond belief & don't like spending on home up keep or even the utility bills. I can show you indians here who wouldn't even flush until absolutely necessary just to lower the water bill. On the other hand, in Pakistan, our motti aunties sitting at home wasting time watching humtv dramas while gossiping & stuffing their faces love competing with each other on the latest appliances. :hitwall:

Your post doesn't make sense neither it explain why same home appliance is twice as expensive in Pakistan. And when I same same I mean same exact thing in specs and even brand.

Also you seem to be out of touch with poverty in Pakistan. But if home appliances were as cheap in Pakistan as they are in India then lots more from middle class could afford them.

Jahez Industry.

Supply & demand baby, it's all supply & demand...

Yes quite possible but again it shows Pakistan have failed. Instead of taxing rich they make things more expensive for average people.

Perhaps the Pakistani government should offer its citizens tax credits for appliances etc. etc.

2 reasons: currency exchange rate and economies of scale

I can only imagine how much a dish washer and dryer are.

And not an appliance, but I wonder how much turntables go for.

Well the logical answer to your question is
1) India most of the brands have local manufacturing/assembly plants in India as compared to imports on our side.
2) The cost of manufacturing in India is less than Pakistan. (Electricity/transportation).
3) The huge local market plays an important part as increasing the volume of product decreases unit cost.
4) There are many local quality companies so competition is high and profit margins are reduced.
5) Companies usually compete for market share instead of forming a mafia to manipulate prices.

Do you think he is providing analysis, he is venting his frustration by insulting India.

They can expensive due to import of Inputs, due to higher power charges, bottle necks in supply chain leading to cost over runs, higher capital cost, higher inflation etc....
