Why Hafiz Saeed will continue to be safe in Pakistan

The Pakistani State and "nation" did not hide OBL nor did it "take money to find him". OBL hid himself, with local supporters (who had knowledge of his presence) numbering in the single digits.

Please try these puerile allegations somewhere else where people won't call you out on them.

OBL was killed in Pakistan. Okay, so what? Yet the USA is still building and carrying it's activities with Pakistan as if nothing happened 3 years ago. The problem with you stupid Indians is that you can't accept the reality. So stop wasting our time with your non-sense.

at first - my dear this thread is not about OBL - and with you going off topic, and making such lame posts, means only one thing to me, and that is = You are Trolling, and for that PDF has given me the right to mark your post "Negative" ---

2nd thing - since you are so interested in licking US bottom, let me share what US had to say about OBL case : No reason to believe Pakistani leadership knew presence of Laden: US - The Times of India

Pak leadership didn’t know about OBL location: WH

In a civilian residential area where no one suspected he would be living.
2. which intelligent guy stay next to army academy / cantonment area when world is looking for him and same army is alley in WOT?
A pretty smart guy - the area was residential and no one would have thought of looking for him there.
3. local support in cantonment area? can you elabaorate who?
His handful of local Al Qaeda members living with him who interacted with the outside world on his behalf. They were killed in the US raid.
4. guy was staying in fenced and walled place . and army did not know ..?
Fenced in and walled compounds are a dime a dozen in Pakistan - why would the Army look at this particular one as being special?

2. OBL was insurance of PA which matutred for USA,,
1. It proves an inability on your part to engage in critical and objective thinking. As pointed out above, there was no reason for the PA to suspect this particular walled compound, especially given the location.
2. Unsubstantiated rubbish - even the US has not been able to implicate the Pakistani State in hiding OBL despite the "treasure trove of documents seized from the OBL compound".

question About the building
High walled buildings are a tradition in our part of the world.
if the bigoted fat blurs the vision of someone then there is no help.

the way our houses are structured are they have up to 10 or 15 feet high walls. and inside that compound are normally animals, vehicles and a 2 2 room guest house for visitors. then comes the inner wall and residential area where only close family members and friends go.

there is so much professional hypocrisy at the part of foreign journalists that they chose to ignore the fact that his house was no different to any other affluent large tribal family which was no different to other houses in the area.

Location
his location in the middle of people and near the army landmark is another confusion. almost the entire Abotabad population lives "next" to Pakistan military academy that is spread over hundreds of acres. it hardly means anything..

the presence of the academy was just a coincidence. Abotabad is a transit town with direct links to almost all tribal agencies and serves as a transit route to and from Afghanistan as well to rest of Pakistan.

the choice of house in that location by OBL was smart and convenient to make quick escape. the "presence" of military academy was a happy coincidence for foreign media to spice up their conspiracy stories against Pakistan army.

following is the upload of the video related to my Abbotabad visit showing the "presence" of army and the "garrison" town .... see how much army you notice in the city

question about competence & complicity
too much credit is given to CIA fake polio operation and using a tainted doctor with questionable past to pinpoint binladen. it was only possible through the intelligence provided by the ISI that this house and the courier came under CIA radar. CIA had assets and operations in rest of the world and the vital data of the movement and location of Abotabad as a potential suspected sight gave the Americans the necessary information to connect the dots and build up the pattern.

the information was not shared back and ISI was kept in the dark. the successful operation by ISI to capture KSM, the mastermind of 9/11 attack was a different story, it was the same ISI that also captured Al Libi as well the list is long but the point is that ISI had done its part.. OBL was not just located in Abotabad and found, he was being looked for both in the tribal and settled areas of Pakistan. CIA for its reasons, decided to keep the information with itself otherwise if the data of the suspected courier was shared with ISI about his movements outside the country then it could have been an ISI led operation like in the case of KSM.

Sixty years of US aid to Pakistan: Get the data

As the US announces it is to withhold military aid to Pakistan, find out how much money America has given to the country since 1948

Get the data

The Obama administration has announced it will withhold more than one-third of all military assistance to Pakistan - an aid envelope worth some $800m (£498m). The withheld aid includes funding for military equipment and reimbursements for selected Pakistani security expenditures - including a payment of $300m for counterinsurgency programmes.

US aid to Pakistan has a long political history and this is not the first time money has been withheld. Here we've pulled out all the figures for both US military aid and economic assistance (including development assistance) to Pakistan between 1948 and 2010.

The dataset comes from Wren Elhai, at the Washington-based Center for Global Development (CGD), who in May published a report along with Nancy Birdsall and Molly Kinder analysing the long-term impact of US aid to Pakistan. The numbers - which come from the US Overseas Grants and Loans database and the Congressional Research Service - have been adjusted for inflation and are presented in terms of the value of the US$ in 2009.

US aid to Pakistan, 1948-2010
Some highlights:

• US economic assistance to Pakistan peaked in 1962, at over $2.3bn

• in 2010, military assistance to Pakistan totalled $2.5bn - including $1.2bn in coalition support funds

• US assistance to Pakistan reached its lowest level in the 1990s, after President George H.W. Bush suspended aid flows over Pakistan's emerging nuclear programme

• US military assistance dropped dramatically during and immediately after the Indo-Pakistani wars of 1965 and 1971

• in the 1970s, President Carter suspended all aid to Pakistan (except food aid) in response to Pakistan's decision to construct a uranium enrichment facility

• although US assistance (both economic and military) to Pakistan has fluctuated considerably over the last 60 years, it has risen steadily since 2001

Pakistan has historically been among the top recipients of US aid - since 1948, the US has sent more than £30bn in direct aid to the country. Nearly half of this has been for military assistance. However, since Osama bin Laden was discovered and killed in Abbottabad earlier this year, US president Barack Obama has come under increasing pressure to justify US aid spending in the country.

Although military assistance is currently the only form of US aid to Pakistan to be withheld, Congress has considered other - as yet unsuccessful - bills to also block US economic assistance, and civilian aid to Pakistan will no doubt be up for debate again next year, as the 2012 budget battles get underway.

What can you do with the data?

Please try these puerile allegations somewhere else where people won't call you out on them.

At the cost of going off topic for a while I'd like to put forth the following :

1. Its about time Pak stopped using the word ' Non State Actors' and hiding behind it for it further establishing both the culpability and ignorance of a nation. It also assumes the world to idiots who cannot see through this smoke screen.

2. Mush asserted that OBL could be anywhere in the world but Pakistan. Knowing the nation its the Khaki which has always called the shots , if he didnt know then either he is a liar ( & thereby so is the entire nation) or he & the famed ISI was involved. They knew & ran with the hare & hunted with the hound hoping that they wouldn't be found out.

3. Local Supporters ? Is it being suggested that all state agencies are so incompetent that areas around a VA like the PMA was not kept under survellience ? At least twice a year on each POP VIPs must be flying in, areas in & around the flight paths are routinely dominated.

I appreciate how embarrassing it would be for a sane Pakistani to digest these & more bitter truths , we saw similar questions being raised in Pak media & on TV shows.

The first step to solve a problem is to admit its existence. Denial is a default response which has brought your nation to where it is now. Its for you guys to decide how to take it forward.

The rest of the world meanwhile is moving on.

If a known Terrorist can become the Prime Minister of India, so whats wrong with Hafiz Saeed to live in Pakistan peacefully and do social work also.

So far Indian courts have not found anything against Modi.Indian courts are indipendent unlike the Pakistani ones, where judges are seeking asylum in Foreign countries due the death threats levied against them.Recently a federal court in Islamabad was bombed & the judge was killed.I have seen the footage of ROSE petals showered on gunmen by your EDUCATED LAWYERS who killed the Punjab Governor Salman Tasser. Why don't u hang the gun man & finish the chapter, what is Pakistan waiting for.I have read that the Gunman is considered a HERO in his hometown.People in his village want him to be given the title of Qazi(Sainthood).Recently a Ahmedi person was shot dead in Jail by a teenager in Lahore.

And yes i forget to mention LK Advani, there is a record of FIR against him in a police station at Karachi. He was planning assassination of Quaid-e-Azam MA Jinnah back in 1947-48. Please hand him over to us we want to trial him.

Pakistan should have arrested Advani when he visited Karachi. Why they kept mum & silent
