Why don't we rely on the Azerbaijan's oil?

The question is, why don't we unite with Azerbaijan instead. We already speaking the same language, have common history.
With additional 15 mil population, we can ne the dominant power in the region. Not to mention Azerbaijani oil reserves.

yes i mentioned that before in another turkish forum , we should unite like the united kingdom , e.g United Turkistan is good .

there is like two prime ministers but only one is foreign relations , totally free trade and other benefits , but with erdogan this is not possible .

Because Russia, Iran, and China would be in an uproar. No to mention the fact that neither Azerbaijan not any of the Central Asian Turkic countries want this. They may talk, but they are still Russian vassals.

Right now, from whom does Turkey buy its Oil from? Iran or Saudi Arabia?

Russia, Azerbaycan , iran and probably more countries, Azerbaycan gives it for cheapppp, plus we get oil and gas or money from pipelines that pass through like Nabucco, Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan and many more, gateway to Europe

Seriously, whats up with Armenian trolls here?

The decrease of oil production was only BPs fault and they have promised to fix the issues and has received the last official warning, if not they will most likely get kicked out from the country, they are ******** because Azerbaijan's share rised into level of 75%.

The last official anouncement put proven oil reserves at 15 billion barrels.

And another one says that Azeraijani oil is of low quality, while its one of the best and Azeri Light Crude is one of the most expensive on the market. During this month the average price was $116 for "Azeri Light".

@ASQ-1918 are you saying BP's doing this intentionally?

just kick them off and give the job to TPAO :)

It seems so, and it has deprived Azerbaijan of a good amount of income when the oil prices was high, so the GOV are really pissed off at them. Ilham Aliyev felt the need to speak on this issue publicly.

We have our own SOCAR that are one of the largest oil companies in the world.

LOL that's BS it is not BP's fault that Azerbaijan does not have an unlimited amount of oil. Tell me, is it or is it not true that Azeri oil output has been declining ever since 2010, the peak year?!?!

But you are right about Azeri Light crude being high quality. If BP gets kicked out, then which company will be operator? Is SOCAR capable?
