Why does Pakistan have zero grandmaster's in chess ?

ok. stick with me then. if india's punjab is part of ancient india, what about pakistan's punjab and sindh? why is Sindh mentioned in India's national anthem?

There is no such thing as a "united ancient india" that the region that is now Pakistan was ever a part of. That is a myth perpetuated by sanghi hindtva extremists. It has no basis in reality.

i know. but he is making a case regarding geography. so i am going to humour his thoughts till he gets stuck in the trap.

The current rising star is Iranian Alireza Ferouza ,giving nightmares to even the current world champion.
He is muslim enough.
And the middle eastern countries regularly hold chess tournaments, including saudi Arabia.
When did I ever suggest these scholars were correct? Or even that the entire ummah listens to them? Or even that all Pakistanis do?

Chess has never been prioritised in Pakistan, partly because it has a perception of being a waste of time at best, and some form of heresy at worst.

Still, pretty sure I could school you in it if needed.

Like all indians, he doesn't know what he is talking about and is making up fairy tales. He also claimed that it is an accepted fact that indians invented the game of chess and he posted a source from History Britannica to support his claims. The source IN FACT contradicted him by stating that no one knows where the game of chess originated from. Here is a link to the source in question:

Where precisely in "the region or territory referred to as ancient India"?

If it's IVC, it's not "Indian".

I hope Indians haven't claimed something which doesn't belong to them.

Indians have Afghan-syndrome, just like Afghans claim almost all of Pakistan. if an indian has ever set foot on a piece of land once in their life, 1000s of years ago, it is part of ancient india and should be theirs forever.

.
Answer is quite simple. Chess requires planning strategy execution fore thought time dedication and Pakistanis only have time and none of the other. So no chess players or grandmasters.
never knew chess defines a nation...

Because the regions you mentioned were always part of Ancient India. As far as people go you should just ask any of your fellow Pakistanis and check their answer, Pakistanis atleast in PDF never claim to be part of Ancient India.

Great move, much chess
You are the one who said Pakistan is part of North India, in what way are you trapping me again?

Origin of chess is in India from the 6th century. Nothing to do with the middle east .
Note: The geographic North West India is Pakistan.

" Mahabharata. Chaturanga was flourishing in northwestern India by the 7th century and is regarded as the earliest precursor of modern chess because it had two key features found in all later chess variants—different pieces had different powers (unlike checkers and go), and victory was based on one piece, the king of modern chess.

Please no IVC here, it'll open a pandoras box of arguments

ok. so if Punjab and Sindh are part of ancient India, and those 2 regions populations easily makes up the majority of Pakistan. then Pakistan is mostly north indian, and using your claim that chess came from ancient, north india, then Pakistan has just as much a chance of being the genesis of the game as much as any other part of north india. samaj aya?

Sure thing claim on, But you should really explain this to your fellow Pakistanis not me. Atleast you are agreeing to the Ancient Indian origin argument.

Why does Pakistan have zero GMs in chess ?
India has 64 , 4th highest in the world.
Bangladesh has 5

I play on chess.com and many Pakistanis are registered their. But seems no Pakistani has gone over IM level.

Its a excellent game with a rising profile and very accessible.

Maybe some Pakistanis can enumerate the reasons ?

What a terrible attempt at trollig.

Folks, here I'll translate for you.
The reason is you Pakistanis have a low IQ, your islamic culture makes you backwards and you guys just have madrasa education.
