Confronted with some of life's upsetting experiences - marriage breakdown, unemployment, bereavement, failure of any kind - many people become depressed. But others don't. Why is this?

A person who goes through experiences like that and does not get depressed has a measure of what in the psychiatric trade is known as "resilience".

According to Manchester University psychologist Dr Rebecca Elliott, we are all situated somewhere on a slidling scale.

"At one end you have people who are very vulnerable. In the face of quite low stress, or none at all, they'll develop a mental health problem," she says.

"At the other end, you have people who life has dealt a quite appalling hand with all sorts of stressful experiences, and yet they remain positive and optimistic." Most of us, she thinks, are somewhere in the middle.

drink more and more water and get rid of depression....

or chill and just dont care calm down and think of a solution rather then thinking man this problem is impossible to solve thats what i do unfortunately my friends and family do the latter and worry more on the problem rather then the solution:tup::enjoy::enjoy:

think that every one is expendable with you in it, and work for betterment and excelance rather than for fame and glory. those who do this never get depressed.
I stay cool and calm even when my manager walks on fire and yells at others for the question why the issue happened? on the other hand i just work on "how to stop it from happening in the future". thats the reason they call me saint in my team.

Thats because he is manager, he is taking the pressure not you. :)

if i were the manager, i would be doing a much better job rather than yelling at people. manager has to find a way on how to stop from disaster in future rather than dwelling the past on why such a issue happend. I work on a new tool called the Adobe Livecycle ES2. this platform is not a mature platform for BPM, yet its slowly gaining in its space and has a few inherent defects which will be addressed in the future. any issue that happens in the application that we develop on this tool is primarily because of the product(tool) defects and not due to programing error on the application. so as a manager when you know that your team is not the reason for the failure its wise to make the Client understand that we are working on a tool which is fragile rather than beating the bust arrond asking the same question for the next 40 days.
