What's new

Why do Pakistanis love Kashmir?

Because of where it sits and the amount of control it would give to itself and China over India.

It boils my blood too. Seriously!
That's so rebarbative and they still defend it. How? I mean how can one vindicate this immorality.
I think it is a deep hatred due to 1000 years of Muslim rule over their territories, finally they have control and they are unleashing themselves on the defenceless kashmiris, charlatans like Goswami defend the Indian policies by putting on a ridiculous spin on events as if every kashmiri in both Ak and IOK wants a merger with Hindia, the truth is nothing could be further from the truth.

1940 , As the history goes , that based on the population of Muslims the following regions were requested to be the new independent Muslims state

1947, At time of partition most of the Muslims states were lost (Unexpectedly) and when Kashmir region also was taken away that meant war. The man responsible for the hand over wanted to rush things , and he designated the mapping duties to another man who crafted a messy unplanned solution

Under the plan Sikh region was to also get a independent area

Muslim population was about 45% of India so a much larger territory should have been negotiated according to the map

1971 War further changed the dynamics with loss of West Pakistan so that further complicated the Kashmir issue beyond repair

This is the reason why huge % of Muslims also remain in India which Hindu extremist are trying to convert by force

A logical man would have said we were granted far more then our share and be happy however India decided to also steal Kashmir so it was not acceptable and it will never be acceptable

Muslim in Pakistan : 190,000,000 (2016)
Muslim in India : 184 million (2016)
Muslim in Bangladesh: 148,821,237 (2016)
Collective : 522, 000,000(2016)

Population of Hindu : 1018,000,000 (2016)

Population Ratio is 1: 2 , so the Territory should have been divided also on 1:2 basis as well
The map above shows 1:3 divide still major portion goes to Hindu India

However the division was done wrong and it was 1: 7, plus then Kashmir was also stolen

While india took the major forest and natural resources areas, we were given Baluchistan an area 99% desert /no water system / No farming

After much effort Government of Pakistan commenced the projects to help the void region of Baluchistan with irrigation system and some form of economy we see Indians attempting , sabotage or spread their Terrorist Network. As many folks would know the capture of the Indian Spy recently

this tweets are after an incident recently took place in Kashmir. Where a girl was sexually harassed by an Indian solider (I have to be clear) and people protested, a chaos happened and two boys lost their lives. :([/USER]

Those who were shot down by army personnel in handwara were not innocent, they were exercising stone pelting rights however loss of life is tragic & avoidable ....

I was in Pattan on that day....

the argument of kashmir has always been geographical rather than population centric.. if you choose the population centric argument, then AJK, GB and Kashmir valley will decidedly vote for independence from both India and Pakistan, and Jammu and ladakh districts will vote to join India, and aksai-chin is an extension of ladakh, so it has to be given to India.. and realistically if and when, and that's a big if, Kashmir issue is sorted out, there is no way that Pakistan can ever get Jammu and ladakh districts of kashmir, as they don't have Muslim majority population, and it'll be most likely it loses control of AJK and GB as well..

Pakistan doesn't want any referendum because of this reason only, as they have a lot more to lose than any other party to the dispute, whether India or China, that's why it'll never comply with the first step of removing is armed forces, and that's why there will never be any referendum in Kashmir..
Not really

the case is unclear... the molestation may be true or it may simply be a case of local ( kashmir ) reactionaries oppressing the girl because she may have spoken politely with a army man or most probably some misogynist rumors about the girl being friends with the army man which happens a lot in south asia.

technically, the said girl ( perhaps the same girl ) denies molestation and blames local youth[1] :
The girl, however, has denied she was molested and accused two local youths of hatching a conspiracy. The Army has released a video statement of the girl’s statement in which she is saying that she simply went to nearby washroom along with her friend and suddenly a youth appeared before her and took her bag away.

As per her statement in the video, the boy then resisted her to come to nearby police station. In the meantime, the other youth shouted slogans and instigated violence.

and which vid is this?? it is one recorded in a police station[2] :
But in a mobile phone video first leaked by the police and then released by the army, the 16-year-old has denied molestation and instead accused locals of instigating protests.

The video was filmed inside a police station and a male voice is heard urging the girl to speak.
When the girl's family went to the police asking for her on Thursday morning, her father was also held back. "The police told him that they want to hand over the girl to the family. But once he reached police station he was also detained," said a relative.
The police claim the girl and her father are in "protective custody", but the girl's family and activists question it.

"The girl and her father are in protective custody because they have asked for police protection," Uttam Chand, a senior police officer, told NDTV.
Rights groups have accused the police of illegally detaining the teen and also questioned the way the video was recorded and circulated.

"If the police want to provide protection to the girl, then can provide it at her home, not at the police station," said Khuram Parvez, program coordinator at the J&K Coalition of Civil Society.

and the vid release itself turned into its own controversy in kashmir most probably because kashmir environment has turned into a oppressive one[3] :
"It (release of video) tantamounts to defaming the girl. We do not know who the girl is. It can be cooked up story. If she had to make a statement the army would have brought her before the magistrate concerned or in Srinagar not necessary in Kupwara. They (army) cannot do it (release the video) even if her face is blurred," said Zaffar Ahmad Qureshi, senior advocate at Jammu and Kashmir high court.
Main opposition National Conference too questioned the authenticity of the video saying it was not feasible (for army) to make it public. "It was not feasible to release the video. If any video is there, it should have gone to the judicial magistrate heading the enquiry not to be made public. Again we do not know whether she is the same girl", said Junaid Azim Mattu, National Conference spokesman.

the progressives of india support the girl without taking side of the government[4] :
All India Progressive Womens' Association (AIPWA) National Secretary, Kavita Krishnan in an emailed statement said, "First the police has no right to make public the identity or the statement of the victim in a molestation case, that too of a minor girl. Uploading and circulating her video is another level of brazen illegality. Second, we don’t know if the young girl has given the statement under any duress or not. Third, even if her statement is true, the Army still had no right to fire at and murder unarmed civilians expressing outrage. Further, we have learnt that the minor girl and her father have been detained and no access to them is being allowed for support groups. We demand that human rights and civil society groups be allowed to meet the child and her father, so that they can have access to justice and support."
JNU Students' Union General Secretary, Rama Naga, a Dalit student who was charged with sedition, along with others, in the recent JNU controversy, said, "We can't trust any videos. We saw recently, in the case of a rape and murder of a minor Dalit girl in Rajasthan, how a forced 'consent letter' was obtained from the girl, after she complained about rape by a teacher. Delta, a student paying full fees, was sent to clean the room of the teacher, because she is a Dalit. And there, she was raped. Even after obtaining a consent letter, she was murdered. In any case, how is the killing of people justified? We condemn this and demand action against those who have perpetrated these killings."

at the moment i won't take sides automatically because we must remember that asiya andrabi's burqa brigade ( dukhtaraan-e-millat ) has turned kashmir valley into a oppressive place for the ladies ( you may know of her actions ) and this case may be simply fool males acting illegally on rumors and being misogynist... the police detained this teenage lady and her father for three days which is illegal again but this may really be for protection of the lady... in 2013, the first all-female music band in kashmir 'pragaash' shut down not long after it started because of death and rape threats[5] by supporters of the kashmiri mullahs and their local burqa instigators ( the asiya andrabi group ) :
Srinagar: A spate of online abuses against Kashmir's only girl rock band Pragaash, which apparently forced the members to quit and evoked public outrage, has jolted the police into action. Three people have been arrested from different parts of Kashmir for threatening the girls.
Irshad Ahmad Chara, resident of S D Colony in Batamaloo, was arrested late on Wednesday night, police sources said. Two more arrests were made the same night - Tariq Khan from Bijbehara in south Kashmir and Rameez Shah from Ganderbal in central Kashmir.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who has been vocal in his support for the band, welcomed the arrests.

Police are tracking down the Internet Protocol addresses of 26 users whose comments, out of the total 900 posts on the band's Facebook page, were found to be abusive, officials said.
A member of Pragaash, meaning light, had on Tuesday announced that the band was quitting because of a decree by Kashmir's grand mufti, who finds singing un-Islamic.
The band had been receiving warnings - even rape threats - on the social media ever since it first performed in Srinagar two months ago. The girls decided to stop public performances and focus on producing an album, but the attacks continued.

we must wait some more days for the case to become clear... the situation in indian kashmir is not just about indian army presence. :)

Its either them or the Indian forces

The anti Indian molvi types the so called secular freedom movement in Kashmir died decades ago

I dont like em one bit but they provide a sort of protection for some communities

Pakistan basically has an expansionist mentality similar to china. Like china think that all Mongolian race regions belong to china, Pakistan thinks that Muslims region belong to Pakistan without realizing that they do not want to be a part of Punjabi dominated regime. The status of all other race shall always be low and they will be deprived from equal rights and amenities.
More over , Kashmir has by and large have become a prestige issue for Pakistan. They have invested a lot in Pakistan to bleed India. That has backfired them. Now they can afford to backtrack and they will have to continue the endeavor till the issue reaches its logical end. It is eithe getting whole Kashmir or loosing Kashmir and may be other parts of Pakistan as well.

e more days for the case to become clear... the situation in indian kashmir is not just about indian army presence. :)
The main issue is ppl assume all of Kashmir is burning when only a tiny part (mostly the part bordering Pak and close to Srinagar) is usually in the news for the wrong reasons(ocourse!!!).

Kashmir has by and large have become a prestige issue for Pakistan.
True that.

that is true.

there is lot of impractical emotionality about kashmir.

kashmir won't be resolved in 50 years if this emotionality continues.

The anti Indian molvi types the so called secular freedom movement in Kashmir died decades ago

accepted, though i didn't understand your earlier comment "it's either them or the indian forces".

but there still are people in indian kashmir who are either secular or even progressive... i mentioned the all-female music band and the support she received from omar abdullah ( the then chief minister ) and in a earlier post last year i also mentioned the band's other supporters in the kashmiri community.

and then there is still the communist movement's kashmir presence through leaders like yousuf tarigami[1] :
Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami (Urdu: محمد يوسف تاریگامی‎) is the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Jammu and Kashmir state committee secretary. He represents the Kulgam assembly constituency in the Jammu & Kashmir legislative assembly.[1]He started from anantnag college as a student leader. He has won from the Kulgam constituency for 4 times - 1996 , 2002 , 2008 and 2014 .

and mohammad khalil naik[2] :
Mohammad Khalil Naik (Urdu: محمد خليل نائیک‎) is a Kashmiri politician. He is a veteran leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) in Jammu & Kashmir.[1] He served as Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly representing the Wachi constituency 2002-2008.[2] He is also a member of the Jammu & Kashmir State Committee of CPI(M)
On 28 April 2004 militants hurled a grenade at his vehicle near Bungam as he was travelling to an election campaign meeting in Bonapora. The grenade missed the car but injured various bystanders, wounding two policemen and twelve civilians. And on 17 May 2004 Mohammad Khalil Naik's motorcade was attacked at Zainapora in the Shopian area of the Pulwama district. Mohammad Khalil Naik managed to escape unhurt from the attacks.
On 8 August 2007 militants opened fire on Mohammad Khalil Naik's vehicle near Bahibag as the legislator was touring his constituency. Mohammad Khalil Naik and his security team escaped unhurt from the attack

and then of course the lovely shehla rashid shora, vice president of the jnu students union in delhi... she is kashmiri and affiliated to the communist movement... she and her comrades like kanhaiya kumar and umar khalid of course became known to the world after participating in the progressive agitations in the jnu campus in support of the late rohit vemula and against the fascism of the central government.

of kashmir, we must see that the maulvis and the indian establishment, especially the bjp central government, are actually friends... both don't want real settlement of the kashmir issue... so-called separatists like syed ali shah geelani don't want resolution.
