While Germany beat Argentina in the World Cup final, the real winner is China. The country may not have sent a team to Brazil but its manufacturing might ensured China's presence was felt at every level throughout the tournament.

Indeed. Manufacturing is something Chinese has created its expertise in. Chinese learnt from Japs and now I see Indians learning from Chinese and Japsas now we are ready to move forward and develop. China needs investment regions and after the BRICS moving forward, I see a lot of involvement of all nations among each other.

That's some consolation at least!

Considering how awful and corrupt our national football team is.

And check out these statistics:

China loves the World Cup, but still bad at football - CNN.com

He says that, statistically, one great footballer will emerge out of every 200,000 players.

Right now, China has anywhere between 7,000 and 50,000 kids involved in football, according to the Chinese Football Association. This compares to nearly four million in the UK.

With such a huge population, how do we have such a small pool of football players? Not even enough to statistically make one quarter of a great footballer.

Even basic maths shows why we will never make a FIFA final, unless we do something about it.

The Koreans and Japans can make it, China also can. We have huge talent pool as always. Chinese Football Association and its supervisor is to blame.

That is right. China has a large applicant pool and talent is there, it needs only be tapped and trained , perfected. As for the manufacturing ability of China, yes, there is no dispute with that. :-)

I'm glad Germany won it. They are clearly the best team in the tournament.
