jf-17 under powered also carry less than 4 tons and the paf still reluctant to depend on it as a first teir fighter thats why they wat more f-16 but with j-10 they wont look for more f-16 anyway paf knows better

Look brother we need to dig deeper on this topic PAF needs to replace its older gen jets like F7s and Mirages and needs a workhorse to replace our Older gen jets JFT is replacing F7s, and its a lots cheaper than all 4th/4.5th gen jets current JFT block1/2 have price of 25 to 25 million per copy respectively, we tested all 4th gen Eu jets like EF2000/RAFALE/Gripen but these are super expensive in price above 100 million per piece, with current economic condition of Pakistan we aren't able to get it

but this remain tow options left either we can go to Russian jets, but we are in the phase of trust developing phase with Russia its too early to assume they can/will sell Pakistan Mig35 or Su35

So the only option we left is J10s, this jet is also expensive 65 to 85 million per piece

and your concern about payloads is no problem for Pakistan we manufacturing it in large numbers 134 and counting and it have better payload capacity than F7 1500 kg vs 3600 kg more than double, and block3 will have capacity of 4500 kg

and last bro JFT is a LIGHT WEIGHT FIGHTER so what do you expect how much it can carry, 5000/6000 kg??? that's impossible for LIGHT WEIGHT FIGHTER

Because someone’s career was dependent on it. Instead of just giving up on an old concept and explaining it to Air chief, elephant was kept alive. Instead of starting from the scratch or joining the J-10 program, Chinese Engineer were given never ending wishlist, and idea was re-tweak so many times that Chinese engineer started complaining. Initial idea was light weight upgraded Mig-21 class type fighter. 20 years later, PAF requirements were something F-16 class. So instead of spending more money start on a new idea, compromise was made.

Basically build a Mahran and added sub woofers, spoiler and Nitro in block upgrades.

This is their price for a Foreign buyers, doesn’t mean, it cost them this much to build. Pakistan import stuff for JF-17 plus pay Chinese their share. Don’t be surprise if actual cost for a each copy of F-16, EF2000, RAFALE isn’t much more than JF-17s (excluding add on/Sub system). Since those countries aren’t importing anything major.

Western, Russians and now Chinese use very Large Hydraulic press, to fabricate vital aircraft, spacecraft and other naval equipment in a signal pump, which significantly reduces time and cost to manufacture.
