PLA was capable of intervening. Sino-Indian war of 1962 was mostly fought in the month of November. In fact in 1971 some reserve troops were posted along Sino-Indian border, to prevent any Chinese intervention.

Lets be realistic ! Pakistani top military leadership of that time was too low on moral grounds and couldn't make wise decisions and it reflected in our foreign policy as well . Pakistan , this is why, could not bring its most sincere friend China to its backing during 1971 aggression by its arch enemy India . India on the other hand , under cunning and foxy leadership of Indira Gandhi was able to use Soviet Union as well as United States for its advantage and dismember Pakistan. Whenever Pakistan is led by a morally sound leadership we have been able to beat our enemies but have lost whenever we are led by the opposite types !

China was not in a position to do anything. Hate Manekshaw as much you want, but he knew grand strategy. The only way BD could have been prevented in December was for the Seventh Fleet to appear in the BoB asap - which did not happen.

They did not intervene in 1965, did not intervene in 1971, did not intervene in 1999........

But the more pertinent question though is why does Pakistan rely so heavily on other countries? We saw it in 1971 and during Kargil and we see it now how proud and secure they feel when there is talk about a two-front war India will have to fight. it's a serious question not trolling...

I always say this was the biggest missed opportunity for Pakistan. If they had accepted our offer during 1962, they could have taken Kashmir from an already defeated India.

Pakistan helped India, and in return, India repaid them with cruelty.
