Why are Chinese netizens so aggresive?

The Chinese media has lots of tabloid domestic news too. They have to make money and tabloid news catch people's attention. You have misunderstanding that the Chinese media is all controlled by the government. Well, we are not robots, lol. Of course, they won't publish commentaries like toppling the government, etc, etc., but when it comes to social news, they are very critical of the government because the public has no trust in the government and hates government officials, hates doctors, hates everyone richer than them. On the other hand, they have never lived in the U.S., so they tend to have very rosy pictures of the west. Honestly, I think the general public's attitudes towards social injustice are sickening. The Chinese media usually don't publish negative social news from the west, since those kind of news don't really attract attention from the public. The Chinese public that have never been outside just don't feel delighted from reading negative international news.

Whereas people like me have more realistic views about the world, about social injustice. However, when I read comments made by general public in the west, I see blatant racism and ridicule. Sorry, I cannot love people who hate who I am.

I'm not sure it's fair to judge the entire United States based on what internet trolls are writing. As far as what Chinese read about America, I'm not sure that's under the control of American media. I'm sure that when you lived in the US, you saw the diversity of opinion that exists here, so you're aware that American media doesn't unilaterally take an anti-China line. For your friends who don't believe that, have them read the New York Times for a while, with a special emphasis on the self-appointed gods, Paul Krugman and Thomas Friedman. I think your friends will be pleasantly surprised at the amount of China-worship in mainstream American media.

People who post on message boards tend to be self-selected for anti-social behavior, so you will naturally see more aggressive and negative posts across the board, not just from any specific nationality. Being anonymous is one of the leading factors to me posting here. In my real life I have to be 100% political correct, so when in doubt which is a lot I just don't talk, or change the subject.

I can't even have any discussion on the matter of politics and what not.

Me can't afford to slip up.

Of course I understand that comments made by readers do not reflect the media. When the general public have the rosy picture of the west, and then some of them come to the west, they read those comments, they get shocked and turn into very nationalistic.

I also believe that majority of media in the west have suspicious view about China and the Chinese from choice of words, underlying nuances, etc. Even on some social news, they will insert very political words, etc, etc. I have fairly good grasp of English and can sense what impression the media is trying to portray.

Here, you see them talking about how they are going to dominate the whole Asia and then US also about how China is progressing and stuff. On bloomberg they are on any article commenting about how bad Japan is same goes with Yahoo Answers and any other place on the internet. Seems like they are specially trained or something to do this cause they are everywhere and all say the same thing. I know Korea has VANK which it's job is to promote SK's products and territorial claims but does China have the same thing?

Have you looked at the posts by Vietnamese, Philippine and "Japanese"? The Chinese posters very rarely start flame thread and we mostly just responds.

But of course. Government may not necessarily reflect the opinion and position of all Chinese people. And Chinese culture , definitely, has been in existence even before the birth of the Communist Government.

As a Japanese, I view ancient Chinese history in a romantic view, am in love with the ancient classical writings such as 'Outlaws of the Marsh' [水滸傳], the writings of 孔子, the religious heterogeneity in China such as the mixing of Mahayana Buddhism with native Chinese religion and deities, the musical arts et al. So you see, I can appreciate Chinese culture, and Chinese people, while at the same time be in disagreement with some of policies of the Chinese Communist Government.
