The war in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Phillipines, Ukraine clearly shows what is going on.

First of all , the predictions "Sightings of the future" are forbidden in Islam, only prophets had that divine insight..that is why they were/are called prophets from the word prophecy..

Secondly, the prophet's predictions have no time stamp on them for us, they might have already happened or still to happen in some future time..

Thirdly, thinking rationally about what is going on today in our world, one can only see that most nations are concentrating more on trade and development than on war.. Still some possibilities are there in some hot spots from which Syria, Iraq, Libya and Yemen should be excluded for the simple reason that the fire in these spots has been almost totally distinguished as far as world politics are concerned, since they became merely regional and to some extent local conflicts with no much effect on the world per Se..
The main conflicts that might turn to a WW3 scenario are, in decreasing possibility:

1) Turkish vs Greek war :They are already at war in words.. intensifying almost daily.. and if it comes to an armed conflict where Turkey can overwhelm Greece, we might see NATO backing the latter while playing neutral and will honestly try to prevent the conflict, but then you have Russia that in case of war will support its Christian Orthodox brothers in Greece,, the cycle will go on with the US backing up the Turks at the last moment.. and here we can see a clear possibility of a world wide conflict..

2) US vs Russia (again), about Ukraine which might extend to Syria's Russian presence as a secondary front..

3) US vs China in the SCS in an attempt to curb China's influence and prevent it from checkmating the US presence in the area..

4) India vs Pakistan, some crazy move from India to thwart the CPEC project.. it has already started to claim that it goes through its sovereign territories in Kashmir!, and where China will back Pakistan up, we might then see a US Backing up of India, so it might turn to a proxy war, till nuclear weapons are touted and might be used if the war is
too bloody and too destructive already..

5) Arabs *read Egypt vs Usrael, the latter might count on the present economic weakness/crisis in Egypt and the absence of the Arab front against Usrael that could back up Egypt as in the past, mainly Syria, Iraq and Libya.. to launch some attack on Sinai and try to hod some terrain while invoking the terrorism threat, a fact which will provoke Egypt to a war where Usrael call upon the US to back it up, hence provoking a lot of alliances to be broken and new ones will emerge, since other Arab nations, most of whom are being on the US side will get involved and will side with Egypt.. Russia and China will see a golden opportunity to checkmate the Us in the middle east also and a semblance of WW3 might occur..

6) GCC vs Iran, while both have nothing to gain from a war, the Arabs do not like the Idea of Iran being present in 4 Arab capitals, be it Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Yemen! An all out war will happen if internal conflict stirring is revived by both, since that is the main danger for them.. in that case the US will get involved in force to support its GCC allies, and Iran will count on Russia and China.. hence another possibility of a world wide conflict..

In brief, in any WW3 scenario, the common denominator will be the US vs Russia or China or both, while the trigger might be found in any of the 6 potential conflicts cited above..

Republic of India doesnt want war with Pakistan but the Chinese backing to Pakistan is always the problem. And on that CPEC without solving the dispute is the real issue there.
