Some of my acquaintances have been to China... it is developing at an amazing place.. it is excellent for a vacation...
but you can't access certain newspapers, websites, nor were there any protests, no one takes accountability for anything etc. etc... no places of worship.. so it is not a place where a person can live...

Chinese villagers are not allowed to visit Cities.. Coastal China is developed.. NW is pretty untouched.... etc.

Juanita a day-to-day regulated life of Chinese may be better than all other nations but when it comes to freedom that makes us human it is not there...

Welcome to this website and to learn Indians. Majority of them know nothing about China, but freely brain-washed by their free media.

One forumer from China pointed out reasonably that many Chinese come to talk to Indians good-heartedly over internet, but are pissed off by their hostilities (maybe due to 62 conflict which are long forgotten by most Chinese). Many of the Indians proudly call them democratic but can tolerate no different opinions, and treat these Chinese dissidents as "communist", "communist agent', or "living in Pakistan"...

But those Indians are only a small portion of all Indians. Recently survey shows that the majority of Indians are friendly towards Chinese. Hopefully the trend will stay.

My father did military service and told me, this world is not safe, because some bad countries don't like to see the other countries live in peace. While i duly noted your subjective opinion, in which you failed too openly name any particular country in the first sentence or two, which in itself... is rightfully open for debate & criticism, according to ones own opinions!

It's the highlighted in bold portion, which concerns me a bit, IMHO...it seems to be so incredibly full of generalizations, that i find it quite hard too believe that it is coming from a citizen whose country was outright invaded in the last centruy over the very same logical reasoning, that is of course.... after passionately considering the objective history of the Chinese nation in the last century of that particular era (Specifically 1920's?-1945 period)

Plenty of people around the world know of the horror that was visited upon China, but not only China, is way too horrible to even comprehend. What was the final tally? I've read somewwhere that it was over 20+ million dead Chinese civillians & soldiers by the time it was all over with, not too mention what little economy there was before, was absolutely in ruins afterwards! No one wants a repeat of that era!

The point is... no one in the west, or even in the east, for that matter... is trying too keep the Chinese down! Hardly anybody is remotely even interested in that specifically because that belief seemingly ends up causing more harm too everybodys interests in the region as a whole, rather then just harming a few countries in particular. I say all of this in light of the many mistakes made by the West between the periods of the middle of the 19th century up til the mid-20th century!

I hope you don't take this post as a personal insult, which isn't my intention at all. But... more of a minor differing opinions in this regards!
