The only reason I didn't pick the USAF is because it's reliant on the USN for much of its heavy lifting. True, the USAF does have its own Airlift Command.

But the USN moves most of the equipment used by any service, including the USAF via its Sealift Command.

Taken alone, the USAF faces a replenishment problem, without the help of the USN or regional partners.

Still, our military contingent is large, very large and includes military aircraft of all types, including heavy bombers and electronic support aircraft.

Also, while those forces stated in Asia are rather limited

Pacific Air Forces - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

More units can easily and quickly be moved in the theater if needed.

However, China is right there, Japan too, and both can act faster and influence the region in ways the US can't.

actually, even China, South Korea and Japan Air Forces too has limited power projection compared to USAF Pasific Forces, the lacks of strategic airlift capability and refueling capability made their range of influence is limited too. And they can't venture far off from their logistic line for so long, actually in this regard USAF Pasific forces is quite better compared to them.

US without any doubt, not just because of the assets that they already deployed in the Asia Pacific area, but also because of the assets that they can easily deploy there in a short period of time.

They have the numbers, the quality (F-22), the biggest bomber fleet (B-1B, B-2, B-52), the biggest transport fleet, etc, etc. The upcoming activation of 4 bases in the Philippines also adds to the assets in the region.

Those forces are also supported by the best ecosystem of support assets such as AWACS, satellites, etc, etc.

Furthermore, they are also complemented by their naval aviation.

Its USA.

USPACOM has 4 air units of USAF-5th,7th,11th and 13th,which consists15th Airlift Wing,18th Wing, 35th Fighter Wing,374th Airlift Wing, 51st Fighter Wing, 8th Fighter Wing, 354th Fighter Wing, 3rd Wing,and the 36th Wing.

I'm not sure about numbers.. @SvenSvensonov please help us to find approximate numbers.

But one thing for sure,This Command is responsible for area from West Coast of USA to the East coast of Asia and from Arctic to Antarctica, where roughly 2 billion peoples live.please, get real.

China's air force is the strongest (and survivable) due to 41 deep underground air bases

I think the strongest air force in Asia-Pacific is China. China has at least 41 underground air bases.

Taiwan has one underground air base under a mountain.

I am not aware of any other underground air bases in Asia-Pacific. Countries on the Ring of Fire, such as Japan, have unstable geology and underground air bases are inherently dangerous.

Without an airbase to provide a runway, jet fuel, armaments, and repairs, you have no airpower.

In conclusion, the exposed air bases on Kadena and Guam would be wiped out in the early hours of a conflict due to a missile barrage. Destroyed aircraft and oil tanks mean the air base has been rendered useless and inoperable. Thus, China's protected air-force under the 41 deep underground facilities means the Chinese air force is the only one left standing.

what is an underground airbase good for ?

Protect aircraft from EMP and missile attack.

The key is survivability. Parking a bunch of aircraft out in the open to be eliminated by enemy missiles is a weakness. Those combat jets won't be around for very long. Kadena and Guam are for show. They are useless in a real war against China (an EMP and premier missile power).
