Who else catched the flu?

Try living in Virginia with all the wet leaves and molds... I can't breath ever!!! I've never been stricken with the flu, or had a flu shot, but allergies:mad:.

My only relief is during winter in the Shenandoahs for some skiing.

That is my feeling whenever I walk into the Linen's section in any shop :p:. Feels like Vader is using a force choke on me.

Lucky me, I outgrew allergies. :bounce:
Haven't had a flew or cold in 12 years. :woot:, Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself. :undecided:

that shitty virus suprise me each day with new thing. Thuesday i just had headache and went doctor. So must not go work for one week. next day my throat feels like someone shoved a handgrenade down there...next day i felt better but now i only feel weak and the fever is the worst thing. Blargh. ill try the soup

Just follow your doctor's advice, he has a MBBS for a reason :P. I find gargling with hot water with a pinch of salt is very good for sore throats. For the pain take whichever painkiller you are not allergic to, linctus for the sore throat. Take plenty of steam to unblock you sinuses and I know it sounds disgusting but try not to "breath your snot inwards, as this ends up blocking your sinuses and also gets swallowed into your stomach" :P

tea boiled with crushed ginger and one teaspoon honey added before drinking is good for sore throats... sore throats indicate start of cold.

Hi,

The basic biology of the infection is somewhat like this----we already have the bacteria / viruses on us---inside the nose etc etc----so when the nose gets cold---the temperature of the nose goes down---the blood vessels shrink and the blood supply to the nose is reduced---as the blood supply is reduced and the temperature is down---it is an excellent ground for the virus to multiply fast---.

Before the infection sets in--you start feeling the soreness in the throat and a little twitch in the nose----that is the first sign of coming infection----. The best remedy for that is to gargle with Listrene----it kills 99.9% of the germs in the throat---that is first stop.

The next one is the setting of the flu----you can only counter it with fire hot chicken soup---red pepper and spices increase the blood circulation----so as you drink the soup---and you start sniveling and the sweat starts forming on your scalp and forehead---blood vessels are dilated and the blood is circulating at a higher rate in your nose and facial area---the mucous in your nose suddenly is softer and you can sniff out a lots of it----so now your sinuses are being cleared---and as there is more blood flow---you are fighting the infection better---.

When I am just starting to get flu---I drink about 3 to 4 cups of soup in one sitting---works like magic for me.
