Wait for it...we are going to see volumes of Chinese tiger statistics rolling out like a waterfall on this thread .
No need for Chinese statistics.
On India, the world's statistics are the same. The Chinese just tell you that, after all, the Indians world view is narrow.
Isn't it? Super power India?

It is good to notice that the narrative has shifted from India Vs China from the useless and dumb India Vs Pakistan.
Competition is good for development and growth. Bring it on.

Every one in Asia have come through this phase. India is just passing. China claims it has passed that phase but doesn't really seem so. China is cheating the world in many ways.

According to the above data Chinese will not have enough water in coming decades to even clean their cracks and crevices. Think about it. Your grandson may never know what taking bath is !

India continues to have misplaced priorities. India is spending $530 on a stupid statue while China...

China opens world's highest bridge to traffic
A towering bridge hanging 565 metres (1,854 feet) above a gorge in southwestern China opened to traffic on Thursday, with state media hailing it as the world's highest bridge.

The Beipanjiang bridge spans 1.34 km (0.83 miles) between Xuanwei city in Yunnan province and Shuicheng county in Guizhou and cost 1.023 billion yuan (about $140 million) to build, broadcaster China Central Television said.

The four lane bridge, which took three years to build, will cut journey time between Xuanwei and Shuicheng county from more than four hours to about an hour, CCTV said.

Stupid comparison. India has successfully completed many complex projects including dams and roads in world's most flimsy terrain like Himalayas and Konkan. India will also continue to build high bridges many other infrastructures in many complex terrain and also build statue.

Chinese have the surplus $$$ to build statues- afterall, the world's longest(e.g Great Wall), biggest and tallest buildings are or were all in the Sinosphere. The chinese take it as a self-pampering for all the hardwork done in having built up the infrastructure(and still continuing) for their economy.

On the other end, even as India's dirt-poor, slum-living citizens are resorting to chewing grass and gnawing treebarks to satisfy their hunger, their governement are instead, prioritising on building a 'beautiful' statue in the middle of the sea. *facepalm*

India to become superpower by 2012: Kalam

By PTI | May 02, 2008, 05.13 PM IST
UDHAGAMANDALAM: Former President A P J Abdul Kalam today lauded ISRO's scientists for successfully launching the PSLV-C9 to put 10 satellites in orbit.

Besides, the Chandrayaan-I unmanned moon mission by the year end would add another feather in the country's space programme, Kalam, here to participate in a school function, said.

India has become very advanced in space technology, he said, adding the country would become a superpower by 2012.

"Though I have envisioned India to become a superpower by 2020, the attitude and the confidence of the youth, to conquer everything in the right spirit, would make the country a global leader and super power within five years," Kalam told reporters.

Super power is a long journey and ther is always a margin of error of 2,3 decades.
