Why china and India must race?...Just individual people like?:未定:

.
what technology they are ahead. heavy launch? India will have it also in few years.
China:

Project 921-3 Space Shuttle —
  • Second generation crewed spacecraft Shenlong Spaceplane
  • HTS Maglev Launch Assist Space Shuttle New second generation crewed reusable spacecraft
  • Moon rocket able to launch a 50 ton payload in LTO, in the Soviet UR-700M-class,

Space Walk maybe (but India will achieve Mars mission which is more superior TECHNOLOGICALLY then space walk)

Mars Mars Mars ... :D

Yinghuo-1 was a Chinese Mars-exploration space probe, intended to be the first Chinese spacecraft to explore Mars. It was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, on 8 November 2011, along with the Russian Fobos-Grunt sample return spacecraft, which was intended to visit Mars' moon Phobos.[1][6] The 115-kg (250-lb) Yinghuo-1 probe was intended by the CNSA to orbit Mars for around two years,[5] studying the planet's surface, atmosphere, ionosphere and magnetic field.[7] Shortly after launch, Fobos-Grunt was expected to perform two burns to depart Earth orbit bound for Mars. However, these burns did not take place, leaving both probes stranded in orbit.[8] On 17 November 2011, Chinese state media reported that Yinghuo-1 had been declared lost by the CNSA.[9] Yinghuo-1 and Fobos-Grunt underwent destructive re-entry on 15 January 2012, finally disintegrating over the Pacific Ocean.[4][10]

whereas India is ahead in all below areas:

we have discovered water on moon

we have done 10 launches with one rocket.

we have much more safee space programme.

we are about to go to Mars.

How do you judge India is ahead in SAFE space program? :D
How do you judge that India is ahead in Mars program? :D

we have much better resolution satellites then chinese.
Thats was with help of US's instrument right?

So clearly if you see objectively and don't go by ppc propaganda Indian Space Programme is much better then the Chinese one.

Also if Indian Space Mission to Mars is successful Indian Space Programme would be even more ahead then Chinese in TERMS OF TECHNOLOGY

as I consider Mars Mission to be more Technologically Challenging then space walk.

How do you judge that India is ahead in Mars program? :D

Chinese exploration of Mars — The Yinghuo-1 orbiter was launched in November of 2011 in the joint Fobos-Grunt mission with Russia, but it failed to leave Earth orbit and underwent destructive re-entry on 15 January 2012. Further planned missions include rover landers and possible crewed missions in the far future. Anatoly Perminov, head of the Russian Space Agency has revealed in September 2006 in RIA Novosti that China was about to sign a contract by the end of 2006 to participate in a Russian project to bring soil back to Earth from Phobos, one of Mars two moons.[70] The mission will also collect samples on Mars, according to Xinhua.[71]

So what other recourse does India have if MK3 fails? How many chances would ISRO have to get this rocket right? What many successful launches does India need to trust putting human space flight on this rocket?
It is a rocket...It might fail or succeed...
Just wait and see!!!

The Indian Government said that India would be growing at 9.5% for the next half-decade.

Wall Street Journal - Review & Outlook: India Fades
And relation of that with space launchers is???

No!!!MIP detected water first!!

.
airbreathing engines are the future whoever tests them and proves them first will be ahead in the future

.
Offcourse china has the edge and will always have the edge. Why are you even comparing china with a country like india. China looks up to the US. If you have to compare chinese tech , compare it with US,Russia and Japan. Do not malign china by comparing them with India.

To whom we should compare BD:hitwall:

Any source to prove that the program is still active?

At what stage is the development of India's space shuttle now?

Coz China have test the unmanned shenlong at the same time US test its X-37

China has just done a glide test...India would do the same 2012-2014

Semi-cryogenic Project
Semi cryogenic Project envisages development of a 2000 kN semi cryogenic engine for the future heavy lift
Unified Launch Vehicles (ULV) and Reusable Launch Vehicles (RLV). The semi cryogenic engine uses a combination
of Liquid Oxygen and Isrosene as propellants which are eco-friendly and cost effective. Engine design,
generation of fabrication drawing of sub systems and integration drawings have been completed. Preliminary
Design Review of Engine Gimbal Control system have been completed and technical specification document of
both Hydraulic Actuation System and Hydraulic Power System generated. Hypergolic igniter trials have been
successfully demonstrated. Single element of pre burner and thrust chamber are realised. 3 tests have been
completed for single element Semicryo pre-burner injector.
Reusable Launch Vehicle – Technology Demonstrator (RLV-TD)
A series of technology demonstration missions have been conceived towards realising a Two Stage to Orbit
fully re-usable launch vehicle. For this purpose a winged Reusable Launch Vehicle Technology Demonstrator
(RLV-TD) has been configured. The RLV-TD will act as a flying test bed to evaluate various technologies, viz.,
hypersonic flight, autonomous landing, powered cruise flight and hypersonic flight using air breathing propulsion.
Major accomplishments of RLV-TD during the period are
the second static test of HS9 motor with Secondary
Injection Thrust Vector Control system, commissioning
of Integration facility and structural qualification tests of all
wing fuselage joints. Four National Expert Committees
reviewed various design, testing and manoeuvre aspects.
Apart from this, Reaction Control System jet interaction
studies and aero characterisation for the vehicle were
completed. Elevon and rudder deflection studies were
carried out for vehicle and mission. Updated version of
on-board software for Digital Auto Pilot Flight
Requirements Document and data set documents were
released based on National Committee
recommendations. All Navigation, Guidance and Control
hardware, ceramic servo accelerometer and Hybrid Data Second static test of HS9 motor
63
Acquisition System (HDAS) were realised. Miniaturised Flush Air Data Systems (FADS) electronics was also
realised and Advanced Vehicle Imaging System was introduced. The elliptical toroid tank for storing Secondary
Injection Thrust Vector Control injectant was fabricated and subjected to hydraulic pressure test.

OK, any source?

Another Chinese Cheer leader talking of Chinese CCP achievement.
India has it own way of doing things, We have the largest base of Space scientists working in NASA(Indian Origin) and ISRO, future projects will be a combined effort.
We haven't found any need for Moon projects or Space walks so there is no advancements in those fields. Now we are looking forward for these fileds since Space has become a dangerous after Chinese shot down the satellite of their own.

In the next decade or more India will have the largest R&D base, we have agreements with Israel and other western countries(Not those cheap Chinese imitations) and we will progress.
Particularly the agreements with Israel related to scientific R & D will give us edge over China if we can make a good effort.

Enough of this India is 2 decades lagging behind China Thing, When anybody says these kind of comments it makes me laugh, All chinese achieved is GDP growth that do not correspond to scientific growth.
Until 2000 nobody knows Chinese and Han Chinese are an Isloated community in world stage, Suddenly they woke up to world and will say any thing about other countries and behave in an arrogant way and you people will act like a cheer leaders for the Chinese with out even knowing their true intentions.

The Fact of the matter is China is an Islolated country from the rest of world until 2000 and India has its foot prints and influence throughout the human history.
India has its own greatness and we are not here to imitate or to compare with other countries. We have our own problems and we will adress them and succeed in solving them.
You talk about economic growth India has the potential and natural resources to surpass Chinese and this current generation will witness these events in the coming Years.

Nice post buddy...:cheers::
In Space launch vehicles both India and China are in paralell tracks. though i would happily agree that China is 10 years ahead:tup:....

India's GSLV uses solid fuel, hypergolic fuel and cryogenic engines in it 4 stages
Chinas Long March uses hypergolic fuel and cryogenic engines .

Both India and China are planning to replace them..

aim?
to make much cheaper launch vehicles having high similarity between stages...and using semi cryo and cryogenic engines

China

Long March 5 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Long March 5 (LM-5, CZ-5, or Changzheng 5) is a Chinese next-generation heavy lift launch system that is currently under development by China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT). Currently, six CZ-5 vehicle configurations[1] are planned for different missions, with a maximum payload capacity of 25,000 kg to LEO[2] and 14,000 kg to GTO.[3]

India

Already developed a successful high thrust semi cryogenic engines....

The YF-100 is currently China's most powerful LOX & kerosene rocket engine. Development began in the 2000s, with testing directed by the China National Space Administration (CNSA) commencing in 2005. The engine had been successfully tested by mid-2007.

India is developing a 2000 kN semicryogenic engine ready by 2014-2015 for testing

.
Yes but since 1996, China hasnt built any heavy launch rocket. Their LM3b is not advanced as the gslv mk3. Any rocket enthisiasts whould know why. U cansearch up on ur own. Their new LM5 is very advanced as mk3 but can carry heavy weights.

Let's agree to disagree here.

Good luck to India on the GSLV Mk3.

If that succeeds than India will be a major space power alongside US, Russia, EU, China and Japan

.
China launched a rocket with similar carrying capacity to the upcoming GSLV 3 in 1990.

India is around 2 decades behind and there is no sign of catchup for the forseeable future.

A decade behind maybe...

Let's agree to disagree here.

Good luck to India on the GSLV Mk3.

If that succeeds than India will be a major space power alongside US, Russia, EU, China and Japan
and after that GSLV Mk4 15 tonnes
and GSLV mk4 SC 20 tonnes
