Just try to response objectively, my friends.

Explanation of my choices :

I missed some countries like Japan, but Japan come to relevance only after 1905.
or Arab/ME countries, but I really cannot expeled Turkey and add some other muslim country, becouse any other muslim country cant stand a chance against Turkish history + Pax Ottomana brings peace for many centuries in such troubled area like ME.

USA dont qualify at any aspect, no offense.

Too bad that Mongolia, Spain or Portugal didnt fill some places on my list. But only 10 allowed.

Dont start schauvinist talks.
Debate and enjoy!

@500

This is my first and the last account on this forum. I never used dual account. I was never banned. First and the last profile.

Actually, on Septembar 1st, I got job as history teacher, so my new plan for school year includes some classes of foreign (world) histories, 9 classes total.
So I choose to put three countries history in that plan (3 classes each).
Maybe this poll change my mind. I am very optimistic about some arguments here.
So, it would be great if you contributed something here instead of false accusations. Israel was one of my final picks here.

I would say either Greece or Italy since they spurred the rise of the West and the millions of inventions and discoveries that people the world over take for granted in their daily lives. You can't turn around anywhere in this world without a western invention not being infront of you or even something you are wearing (even glasses) is made from some synthetic material invented by some scientist.

This can't be said about other civilizations. They were rich but had little permanent influence on the people across the whole world.

I'd say we are living in a world which is a legacy of Roman influence. Even buildings today still use their steel reinforced concrete design. Read a book lately..they invented bound books too. Even in the year 1600 the majority of the books in the world were in Latin. Even the oddball width of railroad tracks standardized around the world is Roman.

I like you and respect you. But this question is nonsense. Take the Germans as a prime example. Described by the Romans as barbarian, they are today one of the most developed and one of the most richest countries on this planet - probably even one of the most wealthy nations in the history of mankind.

The past is important because it explains your current state. But it is your reality which determines your future. I hope you understand my point.

My vote is for Egypt although it's just a personal choice.
I like how they achieved so much so early in history.

i would say italy. nothing kicked more asses than the roman empire

No country in modern time can say that they are the true heirs of past civilizations.. They are just 'sitting' in those places.

If we are talking about Countries then India was never a country before 1947 and parts of India that has a rich history is now called Pakistan so Pakistan should be included in the List.

I believe OP had a broader definition of 'country', maybe one that included aspects of a civilization or culture rather than a defined border. In-fact, I don't think any of the countries listed above has the same boundaries they had at their peak. That should cover the India before 1947 argument.

Now about the rich cultural parts of India, you can find examples of that throughout India, not just the parts bordering Pakistan. I hardly think the rich architectures of temples of Tamil Nadu or tribal beauty of the North East can be attributed to Pakistan, no matter how much you try and twist the narrative.

so called India was never a single entity, hence there is nothing called Indian civilization, even word india is derived from indus and not the ganga plains where so called Indian lives:tdown: it seems you are also victim of fake history.

Indus valley civilization aka Present day Pakistan.

find me civilization called Indian civilization or change your option and opinion.

They can shove that up their arse, we never claimed their culture belong to us, have you ever seen a Pakistan claiming Southern or NE as his kin?

"parts of India that has a rich history is now called Pakistan so Pakistan should be included in the List"

Quoted from a Pakistani poster in this thread......so yeah.....a Pakistani WAS claiming that ANY part of India that had ANY cultural significance belonged to Pakistan. So either he was ignoring the vast and diverse regions that had their own cultures and civilizations within India and concentrating only on the Indus civilization ( OP didn't exclusively say Indus civilization...he was talking about ancient India which included parts of the Indus civilization) or he actually believes the Taj Mahal is located in Lahore.......either way, my intention was to highlight that there were many other significant civilizations and cultures in ancient India.

And please keep any talk about 'arses' to a bare minimum......let's keep this forum civil, shall we?
