Looking at the money laundering stats of India, the names of Indians on Panama paper list, big biz Indians fleeing to UK and other countries like Mallya and Nirav, hundreds others....India is asking FATF to put India in FATF blacklist so as to help India come up with stringent anti-money laundering bills.

And looking at the success of Pakistan at anti-money laundering efforts, NAB courts(120 more coming)..so this FATF grey list was a huge blessing for Pakistan...



This clearly shows that India, in the present-day scenario, is very vulnerable to money laundering activities and is a high risk zone.

India needs to curb Money laundering as the practice is rampant across the country. It is estimated that a total of $343 billion has been laundered out of India during the period 2002-2011. This is a massive amount and prevention of money laundering must be a priority for the government!
